Nathan_Ellington_WAFC Posted 16 April 2005 Posted 16 April 2005 funny you should say that our commentary was biased, as the main commentator is actually a leicester fan. sounded like we deserved to win, and should of had more. ref bottled to get the red card out
Anish Posted 16 April 2005 Posted 16 April 2005 Can't get Radio Leicester here but talking to a mate over MSN about it, were the fans singing 'You don't know what you're doing' to Levein when Tiatto was subbed? Just going by what he said but i found it pretty weird. 93634 That was because De Vries is staying on no matter what. DONKEY. A complete waste of space. An embarrassment when you look at their strikeforce. Awful today, Levein's decisions were shit. Both wingers took off, desperation meant lets encourage hoofball, but to De Vries, which is comedy. Wigan showed us how to play football, didn't need to break any sweat after their 2nd goal, walk in the park. De Vries out 93641 What makes me question Levein is that when he came down to England he said that the standard in the Championship is poor and that the Scottish Premier League is a lot stronger. Similarly, when Levein bought De Vries he said how De Vries would score a lot of goals in this division. Well....De Vries has scored just 1 goal so far in a supposedly 'weaker' league - what does that say about Levein's judgement?

Tommy Posted 16 April 2005 Posted 16 April 2005 craigy, whats the score 93652 obviously you dont know because you didnt turn up today, part timer ???
Anish Posted 16 April 2005 Posted 16 April 2005 Oh, and another thing. We are simply abysmal at defending corners. I cannot accept this - we have conceded far too many goals from corners/set pieces under Levein, what on earth are they doing in training? Nobody looks convincing and in command and the goals we let in today were easily preventable with a bit of organisation. At the other end of the field, our corners are far too predictable. Gillespie has a good cross but his corners are all 'floaters' - making it easier for the goalkeeper to catch. Williams is the same. We don't have anybody who can hit the ball with pace and accuracy (like Izzet, and the Wigan corner taker today) so it's no wonder that we don't score many from set pieces.
Leicester_Mad Posted 16 April 2005 Posted 16 April 2005 what a shite performance. De Vries needs to go, Benjamin was better than him . If we lose on Tuesday we are in big trouble. We wont get anything at Sunderland, at home to Derby or away at Plymouth so Cardiff and Leeds are last hopes....

So much for die hard fans, eh part timer
kenny Posted 16 April 2005 Posted 16 April 2005 Im sure that wigans second was a foul on walker and should have been disallowed. Also once we were 2-0 down the ref failed to give the most blatant penalty ive seen in ages, there was nothing to say we may have got the draw. Wigan are going to struggle big time in the premier even with £29 mill to spend, they need aroun 8 or 9 players to have any chance of staying there.

Durnerz Posted 16 April 2005 Posted 16 April 2005 There was no urgency today at all, aside from Dublin and Connolly no one looked bothered today, midfield were second to every ball and sat deep at times, the defending off corners was awful and theres no organisation, give Dublin the armband, let him sort it out, he knows how to defend a corner. How De Vries stayed on so long is beyond me, why did we even bother taking Stefan Moore on loan with supposedly a view to a permenant deal if we're not going to even bother playing him half the time and when we do, playing him out of position, awful decisions today from Levein, taking off our best supply line (Gillespie) when tiatto and De vries were much more worthy of the 4th officials board. We need to get the urgency back for Tuesdays game and desperatly need to sort out defensive set plays.

In my opinion our defending from set pieces has been crap, with dublin and dabizas in the team. Next match stick dublin up front, put mccarthy back at centre back see if our marking gets any better. They didnt have many clear cut chances today, i just cant believe we have conceeded 2 from set pieces again.

Ricey Posted 16 April 2005 Posted 16 April 2005 Just got back and that truely was an embarrasing display Firstly the referee was awful, totally biased towards Wigan and turned down a stonewall penalty on De Vries. The team performance was shocking, on really Gillespie and Dublin played well while the rest were awful especially Connolly and De Vries who looked like a pair of sunday league part timers. The second half we attacked more but as soon as it got anywhere near the goal we would just lose it or give them the ball. The less said about our deending from corners the better, a midget could of won a header from a corner today against us. Very very disapointed, I find myself thinking how next year we will do any better.
Wellman Posted 16 April 2005 Posted 16 April 2005 I feel there were 2 main reasons in why we didn't get anything from todays game... First reason is Ian Walker. He has NEVER controlled his 6 yard area since he has been at Leicester. He comes out for absolutely nothing and I feel that if he did come out for both of the crosses in which Wigan scored from, they wouldn't of scored those 2 goals. I'm not taking anything away from Wigan at all because the better team won. Secondly it's Leveins tactics. Yes we were 2-0 down before he started making the changes, but WHY DOES HE PLAY DE VRIES! Can he see something in him that all of us can't??? Why did he take Tiatto and Gillespie off when we needed deliverys into the box? I don;t like slagging off our own players and manager but today I think that's whats done us!

Im not overly fond of Connolly but does anyone else think that since hes been playing alongside De Vries, he has actually got worse??? Some of his 'shots' on goal have been embarassing to say the least. Tiatto is living off his 'fans favourite' status at the moment but in reality he hasnt lived up to that title for a long time, he makes too many rash challenges and his rashness can lose us games! As I said before on another thread, Levein made a couple or more tactical errors yesterday but he will still get my support against Cardiff.
