SamL Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 Ridiculous. If both teams want an attendance of around 7,000 then they're going the right way about it.
Alexikokopops Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 Jesus wept, haven't they learnt from the whoel Stevenage thing? No one will turn up!
Corky Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 Those ticket prices looked pretty fair to me. As Sam says, if those clubs want a low crowd and smaller gate receipts then they are going the right way about it.
Munzie Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 Unbefcukinglievable. My club wants to offer me an exciting monthly benefit and some tinpot lower league outfits are sticking their awe in. What is the world coming to? Someone should drug test the management teams of football clubs, not the players.

I hope there is another low crowd, and whoever we play is royally thumped. Who bets we'll have some fans from those clubs berating ours, like with Stevenage?

Who bets we'll have some fans from those clubs berating ours, like with Stevenage? Spot on. I understand that both clubs have to agree on ticket prices and that they may not be in a position to offer their eighteen STH's a discount. That said, attracting a large crowd should be the overriding priority. This will lead to increased revenue and a better atmosphere. Wothout being detrimental to whoever plays us, a match at the Walkers will be one of their highlights (if not the highlight) of their season. I doubt that Stevenage felt a sense of occasion playing in front of 7,000 fans in a echo'y bowl capable of housing 5 times that.
James. Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 I doubt that Stevenage felt a sense of occasion playing in front of 7,000 fans in a echo'y bowl capable of housing 5 times that. 4.64 times actually. Sorry.
Ashley Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 I think those prices are fair, this is annoyed me now because it'll have to go to TheFA again.
dandannieldanok Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 ****ing idiots, why do they have to just be a pain in the arse like this. Hopefully we'll get to round 3 and the bigger clubs won't give a shite about what clubs charge for fans.
20mj08 Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 bring back the ticket for a quid like at southampton last year
Corky Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 bring back the ticket for a quid like at southampton last year The club proposed that, but the greed of the other clubs saw off that proposal.
Guest Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 Ridiculous. If both teams want an attendance of around 7,000 then they're going the right way about it. Perhaps this is it - they feel that they stand a better chance if they weren't playing in front of a large gate.
Fosse Boy Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 Another one I won't be coming home for then. You never know, the FA might side with us. Both clubs are run by idiots out for a quick buck, a great shame considering the giant killing heritage that Hereford used to have in the Cup. Hope we stuff 'em thoroughly.
Corky Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 Perhaps this is it - they feel that they stand a better chance if they weren't playing in front of a large gate. To be honest I don't think there would be a massive gate at the prices we proposed, but a few more season-ticket holders and Under-16s may have been tempted to turn up.

I might have been tempted to sneak in on an under 16s ticket , £15 still a bit much in my opinion.
Zingari Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 However, both the Bulls and Daggers have since rejected City's prices, wishing to charge more than Leicester's original proposal. how the fook is Daggers having any say in this
Guest Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 To be honest I don't think there would be a massive gate at the prices we proposed, but a few more season-ticket holders and Under-16s may have been tempted to turn up. That's the key; the STHs feeling that they have been rewarded. I went around the office and asked several fans what they all thought of our proposal for the Stevenage game, and then told them what the pricing was going to be and why, and they all sided with me (City). These were fans of Covscum, Derby, Villa, Brum, WBA, Southampton and Middlesborough. All go to games, and there is a mix of STHs and non-STHs.

Katy Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 Que an influx of Dags and Bulls registering to have a Stevenage style slanging match with us about prices again. I cannot wait.
Munzie Posted 14 November 2008 Posted 14 November 2008 Que an influx of Dags and Bulls registering to have a Stevenage style slanging match with us about prices again. I cannot wait. Without trying to drag up old arguments, I fail to see the logic in any visiting team having any valid reason for debate. Surely, us, Leicester City learnt a valuable lesson with Stevenage that keeping the whole stadium open and attracting a miserly 7,000 is not a financially viable option. You would have thought that conversations took/are taking place about the cost of running the game with p*ss-poor attendance. Note to tin-pot opposition - You will get a bigger bag of cash from gate receipts if people actually turn up and watch the match. Offer a reasonable ticket price and they will come. This is football, not rocket science.
