Webbo Posted 15 February 2009 Posted 15 February 2009 Aye well that's a shit'ole n'all. You should visit the Royal Oak, it's recently been redecorated to an extremely high standard.
BoneDog Posted 15 February 2009 Posted 15 February 2009 Also drink a lot of Soy Milk at the moment and it takes a bit of getting used to but is actually quite nice, really creamy. Alpro Soya is bangin. Not the unsweetened though, that's just vile
Daggers Posted 15 February 2009 Posted 15 February 2009 We ate a murdered chicken for teatime. It was ace. Tomorrow, I plan on eating a murdered chicken and cooked in a damn spicy sauce - last night's curry leftovers.
Corky Posted 15 February 2009 Posted 15 February 2009 Quorn keeps me alive so shush! Why did you have to bring him into it?
Edmund Posted 15 February 2009 Posted 15 February 2009 Why do they have to make the stuff look like meat dishes? Exactly. If your vegetarian eat vegetables not vegetables (whatever it's made of) stuffed into a sausage. Us meat eaters don't make carrots out of mince meat?!

Guest Bilo Posted 15 February 2009 Posted 15 February 2009 You can make good things with Quorn. I've made spag bols, lasagnes and chilli con carne (surely chilli non carne is more accurate ) and they've been superb!
Uncle Albert Posted 15 February 2009 Posted 15 February 2009 It's texturised protein I can tell, you're a full on additives kinda guy aren't you :thumb up: What are additives? My day in food would be... Morning - Toast 10.00 - Trip to shop at College usually crisps and a drink. Dinner - Cob, Crisps, Chocolate Bar and drink. 16.00 - Crisps Tea - Something like Pizza, Turkey Drummers, Toad n Hole. After - Endless junk. Do I still sound like this kind of guy?

BoneDog Posted 25 February 2009 Posted 25 February 2009 I have just had some Quorn Fake Chicken Breast Slices that I bought from Tesco. I only got em by chance cos of this thread and I happened to notice them when I was lookin for a pack of Turkey slices to eat while I was waitin for me taxi home. They are frickin lovely, unless you're a girl. Don't have em on a sandwich though, just eat em out the pack. Proper snack

Monk Posted 25 February 2009 Posted 25 February 2009 I am trying to persuade the gf to up our meat intake a little! So far this week, 2 REAL chicken meals. Tonight - REAL chilli con carne. Quorn mince is bearable, but the sausages just taste of cardboard. I'd rather eat vegetarian food which is displayed as vegeatrian food - Marinated Tofu is pretty good, and it doesnt pretend to be meat!!

The sweet and sour tofu they serve at Flame in Leicester is immense but tofu in general is pretty wank. I'm not fussy, just give me something without meat and without mushrooms and without raw tomatoes and I'm happy as Larry.
Chromophobia Posted 25 February 2009 Posted 25 February 2009 I actually quite like quorn. I know it's quite bland, but if you eat it with fresh veg, you don't don't notice it that much, and a lot of it has flavouring, which probably isn't very healthy but eases the blandness of it. I don't eat chicken, but do eat other meats, so i guess quorn is a replacement for chicken, being as meateaters generally eat a lot of chicken.
