jimmer Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 I'm liking this guy, maybe he's the steel we've been waiting for. We want to 'KILL' them!.......love that attitude, thats long been missing from City sides over the last few years. I think this chap is going to get better and better
Thracian Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 I'm more interested in us scoring goals than killing people.
Unabomber Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 Yeah he comes seems like the kind of player we need, something that was definately lacking when it was King and Oakley in the middle.
Simi Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 Did King's dirty work on Saturday. Hopefully can maintain that form.
Unabomber Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 What exactly has he said? He said he wants to kill Crewe
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 Did King's dirty work on Saturday. Hopefully can maintain that form. How exactly did the midifeld shape up on Saturday? Was Oakley on the right again?
lildave3 Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 How exactly did the midifeld shape up on Saturday? Was Oakley on the right again? Yes, sort of.
Simi Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 How exactly did the midifeld shape up on Saturday? Was Oakley on the right again? Generous to call him a winger is what I'll say. He's starting to become more and more effective from that posistion and credit must go to Pearson for that. Coming in from the right makes him harder to pick up, I noticed often on Saturday that the midfield were often close together and had some nice interchanging play. However, I reckon when Gilbert is back it will be even more effective for us, as having an overlapping full back to exploit the room made by Oakley will certainly serve us well.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 Yes, sort of. You need to take note of how to answer a question. See below. I suppose as long as City have a player of Oakley's quality performing to a reasonable standard in midfield, they have a very good amount of potential going forward. Sounds like Berner is starting to put his stamp on things as well.

Berner didn't start the best, but he was played in a number of different posistions to be fair. I wasn't sure about Oakley on the right at first, but he's probably been the best winger we've had so far I reckon, which doesn't really do Adams or Gradel many favours I suppose. My worry is though, should Howard come straight back in, the whole system won't work as well. Campbell often made the channel run where you'd expect your winger to be, Howard won't be making these runs I don't think which could lead us a little vulnerable. We'll see though, if it was me, I'd be tempted to see if DJ can shape up.

Just getting that 90 under his belt would have done his confidence the world of good. I'd probably like him to start as well.
clazkel Posted 24 November 2008 Posted 24 November 2008 I think Berner is great, i'm sure on Sat after the game he wsas kissing his badge, i could be wrong but its what it looked like to me. He really seemed happy at the end, and seems to be up for the fight, something we have missed for a long time

Lillehamring Posted 25 November 2008 Posted 25 November 2008 glad that opinion has changed on this guy, and glad to see pearson is using players to their full potential, rather than picking certain players 'because...'
Ric Flair Posted 25 November 2008 Posted 25 November 2008 He looks like he could hurt people without any remorse. I like him.
