Part Of The Crowd Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 How is he getting on for you? i really regret us letting him go, he was so obviously class while playing for us last season, he could run past the opposition defenders backwards while blindfolded. hope he's doing well for you
BedsFox Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 He's consistently excellent, delighted to have him Great pace, scores goals, works hard One of the top few players in this division IMO

He's our second top scorer this season, and has put in some great performances. The key thing with Lloyd is that he always looks dangerous, even in quiet games he can come up with the goods in a flash. Come the end of the season, he could become the signing of the season. (if not already) Why MK Dons only offered him One year, is well and truly beyond me.

Di Matteo seems to be doing a great job. Who is producing the goods for you, and do you think you'll be up there to the end?
JakeShingler Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 Did you have a song for Lloydy? Yes they had the Lloyd Dyer me lord one.

(if not already) Why MK Dons only offered him One year, is well and truly beyond me. we only offered him one year firstly because of finances, and secondly because when his contract ran out we didn't have a manager so therefore we couldn't offer him anything longterm as we were unaware of what our manager would want. it was a huge mistake, especially as we replaced him with a player who can perform in three pre season friendlies (that is all we had!!!) but then looks rubbish and it is revealed that he was hiding a groin injury and playing with it could of permanantly affected his performances

He produced the goods for you last season and was key to your success, so why wouldn't any manager want to keep him on?
Part Of The Crowd Posted 26 November 2008 Author Posted 26 November 2008 and what about MK Dons? Di Matteo seems to be doing a great job. Who is producing the goods for you, and do you think you'll be up there to the end? to be honest, i am genuinely surprised that we are doing this well, but looking at teams there seems to not be too big a difference in quality between league one and two, except a few more teams here try and play attacking football rather than sticking as many men behind the ball as possible, flooding the midfield and generally disrupting the play. i think there is a good chance we could be up there still at the end of the season if we manage to keep our consistancy, our season began with a blip of inconsistancy but now we are on the up, if we are still thereabouts at the end of december i would say we will probably stay there as it is a very difficult month for us, s****horpe and leeds at home where we are strangely not as good as we are away. we have a few players waiting to come back from injury, the main one being danny swailes, he sures up our defence and makes it nigh on impregnable when we have him paired with sean o'hanlon and dean lewington on the left, sam baldock and wilbraham are still coming back from injury, both of them had their first starts tonight. With them at full fitness i would expect our team to score more than we do already! hopefully we can sign luke chadwick in january, he went back to norwich injured but roeder admits there are talks going on, and chadwick would be ideal as a replacement for dyer, i would say he is equally as good if not better than dyer, which would cheer me up a bit

carterfox90 Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 great thanks & NO you cant have him back :D

Who should we take off you next?

Munzie Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 and what about MK Dons? Di Matteo seems to be doing a great job. Who is producing the goods for you, and how much do you want for him? That's better
Ric Flair Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 Probably the best free transfer this club has had for as long as I can remember. You're chairman is a prat. Excuse me if i'm wrong, but didn't Dyer leave before Ince?
CosbehFox Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 I was saying just last night to my Dad...it's probably Leicester's most succesful signing in about 5 years. Probably Dickov was the last one who performed so well.
davieG Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 He seems to be most effective away from home where he often breaks the oppositions defensive line just past the half way line running virtually unopposed to score past an on rushing goal keeper. I think his ability to beat defenders wide on the left needs improving as I don't see a lot of decent crosses coming in from him even though he benefits from having some one like Mattock supporting him with that. Gradel on the other hand always seems to be isolated when trying to beat his man/men on the right.

Gradel on the other hand always seems to be isolated when trying to beat his man/men on the right. Dyer is a shocking crosser of the ball so i'm quite glad there aren't that many that come from his side. Gradel, his crossing is of a mixed bag nature. He needs to stop trying to cross it with his left peg though, some of those are naughty. If Gradel can get some support, hopefully when Gilbert returns, then it will give him the time to execute his crossing better. His cross for Fryatt's header and the one in injury time, both should have been converted if we had strikers who could head the ball. Howard for all his bulk, hasn't impressed me when attacking the ball in the area. He did help change the game for us last night, but his scoring record is disgraceful this season and I don't see it getting any better unless he tries to attack the area better. Great foil for Fryatt though and I would be cautious to see him replaced right now.
breadandcheese Posted 26 November 2008 Posted 26 November 2008 I was talking about Dyer's lack of crosses last night. For a winger who has bags of pace, and storms down the wing, he very rarely whips an early ball into the box for our strikers. Even if he's not very good at it, I'd like to see him try. By the law of averages, one or two a game will be half decent and we will score.

I agree with that, but the problem we had last night was that by not having Howard in the box, there was little point crossing it early for the likes of Fryatt or Campbell, unless it's to feet or in that area between defender and goalkeeper. By the time we had posession in and around the box, Crewe had got nine back unless we counter attacked.

Howard's heading inside the area this season has been horrifying though, so it's pretty pointless any of our players crossing the ball over chest height.

Can't argue about Howard's heading so far in terms of goal attempts, but by crossing the ball in to him, he causes problems in terms of upsetting defenders and acting as a foil to others in and round him; something Fryatt and Campbell obviously fail to do due to their size.
