Ric Flair Posted 18 April 2005 Posted 18 April 2005 After watching that shower of piss/sick and shit on saturday it's time to make an example out of the so called experienced pro's in our team. Out of the players that played, i'd only pick 2 or 3 of them for tomorrow. We have nothing to lose, luckily for us we won't go down unless the teams below us win their remaining games and then we deserve to go down anyway. For us to succeed next season the majority of players will need to be got rid of or have a foot and brain transplant. So it's time Levein got nasty, if I was him i'd fight some of the players. With the academy making a mockery out of West Ham's youth team I think they should now make a mockery out of the wankers in our first team. Hirchfield Maybury Stearman McCarthy Sheehan Porter Dawson Hughes Stewart Connolly Dublin Subs: Dodds, Wesolowski, Williams, Dabizas, O'Grady I'd put a fair few quid on that they wouldn't let us down. It would just be further proof of how embarassing our first team is.
Bert Posted 18 April 2005 Posted 18 April 2005 I agree wit ya there Hoof, if this happens it would probably give the "1st" teamers a kick up the backside!! but being realistic i can see the same 11 starting as on saturday but i would prefer to see this tomorow Walker Maybury Stewart McCarthy Dabizas Gilespie Tiatto Wiliams Hughes Connolly Dublin Subs: Hirschfeld Kenton Gudjonnson Moore Nalis
PompeyFox Posted 18 April 2005 Posted 18 April 2005 Start moore and connelly i think. Can always bring de vires on for the last 10 minuetes. Never went on saturday as had family commitments, so my partner took her 12 year old son. 1st game he's been to since levin has been here. Well he said as soon as i walked in the door that night, de vries is rubbish, cant jump, and when his penalty claim got turned down his head went and didnt want to know(remind you of the cup game at blackburn). My partner thought he was struggling kept holdind the back of his leg, but never got subbed. Levin duly took tiatto of instead??

Give Dubs the captains armband and show him how to marshall the youngsters Walker Stearman McCarthy Dublin Maybury Porter/Gillespie Dawson Hughes Stewart Connolly Dodds Subs: Moore, Gillespie/Porter, Wesolowski, Dabizas, Hirschfeld. I seriously think its time we played Dawson and Dodds

I doubt Levein would name ALL of the ONLY 8 youngsters he sees as first team prospects in one go... I more than doubt that but of course you're only making a point, which I do agree with. I'd still play Walker though, as I think we should make him feel wanted (which we won't do if we play Hirschfeld instead). It makes sense to drop Connolly though... I'd definitely give Moore a start and see if he can do the business, if not Connolly will give it his all in the second half. It means we'll have a relatively fresh threat up front throughout the game. But like you, I'm anxiously waiting for Dawson and Porter to make their debuts. If they can produce a similar impact as Stearman, then it's been worth it...
Who ate all the pies? Posted 18 April 2005 Posted 18 April 2005 How about 3-5-2? Walker Stearman Kenton Heath Maybury Williams Dawson Hughes Stewart Moore Dublin Subs: Joey, Connolly, Tiatto, Gillespie, De Vries. Plenty of pace at the back, and it harks back to MON abit. I think it would work and I'd love us to give it a go!
Who ate all the pies? Posted 18 April 2005 Posted 18 April 2005 Sorry scrap Heathy and lob McCarthy in instaed...now that is a class team!

step Posted 18 April 2005 Posted 18 April 2005 Dis you notice that as soon as dion went up front the whole team started to battle. for a short period we actually looked like we might score Dion and connelly up front
Anish Posted 18 April 2005 Posted 18 April 2005 Hirschfeld RB Maybury CB McCarthy CB Kenton LB Sheehan RM Gillespie CM Hughes CM Dawson LM Stewart FW Dublin FW Moore Williams, Gudjonsson, Tiatto have been a joke for weeks, they deserve to be dropped.
Scow Posted 18 April 2005 Posted 18 April 2005 Walker Maybury - McCarthy - Dabizas - Stewart Gillespie - Dawson - Williams - Hughes Dublin - Connolly I think Gillespie was more confident when he had Maybury supporting him down the right. Unfortunately, McCarthy doesn't offer much going forward for obvious reasons. McCarthy and Dabizas should both play centreback, with Dublin going upfront alongside Connolly. Dublin looked our most dangerous player when he went upfront for the last 20 minutes as Step mentioned. I think Dawson deserves a chance in the centre, I'm sure he would use the ball much better than Joey, and he's just as 'in yer face'. However, it's unlikely to happen for now until our fate is sealed...

Nationwider Posted 18 April 2005 Posted 18 April 2005 Just posted my team for Sunderland by mistake - getting a bit ahead of myself there...hence the edit. As for Cardiff, I'd like to see a few more players in their best position, hence this XI with Dublin up front, Tiatto not in midfield and Maybury at RB. Hughes is a sacrifice at LM, but we're v.short on quality in this position. And, yeah, I know Gemmill is in there, but perhaps we just need someone with a bit of brains in there at the moment? Walker Maybury - Dabizas - McCarthy - Tiatto Gillespie - Gudjonsson - Gemmill - Hughes Connolly - Dublin Subs: Hirschfeld, Stearman, Kenton, De Vries, Moore

Scow Posted 19 April 2005 Posted 19 April 2005 I'm baffled by some people's suggestion of Maybury at centreback. We don't need to be playing him in another position he isn't comfortable with.

If we play 3 at the back it should be Stearman - Dublin - McCarthy or McCarthy - Dublin - Dabizas ...
thommo2 Posted 19 April 2005 Posted 19 April 2005 Agree with Step Dublin gave us that boost when he was pushed forward
