I took some lovely pictures of sunrise in Riga after an all night session. I'll get them up here when my computer's fixed

How good is Riga, i also saw the sun rise from there while i was passed out in an alley way chewing the fat with some blind (not from drinking) classical music buskers.

Took these down at Groby Pools a few nights ago with my new camera. Oh and the bloke in one of the photos is my dad.

Nice photos of Groby Pool there Mikey!

I keep meaning to upload some photos onto here that I've got from a couple of recent expeditions but the new image viewer on facebook doesn't let you retrieve the image URL so I'll have to get myself a flickr or something soon

Thank you mate :)

Just upload your photos to photobucket mate and then use the image code from there, on here. You can paste it straight into the box here.

Just Ctrl + click on them and it'll open them in a new tab instead of the new viewer

I'm hoping to get an SLR later in the year, but as things stand I'm just using a compact digital camera (all be it a good one) so the quality isn't great, but similar to a previous post of mine I'd like to think the content is decent :)

Venice in March this year..

Venice is a fvcking phenomenal place, the photos just don't do it justice. I went for 4 nights and had an amazing time but I only scratched the surface.

For anyone that's interested, I have over 400 photos (and that's cut down) including a good few from from Vicenza all on my facebook so don't hesitate to ask if you'd like to see them. Gonna whack a few from Edinburgh up on here when I can be arsed as well.

Oh and on a note totally unrelated to photography, but something I thought was worth sharing...

It's my flat mates room on her 20th birthday after we blew up about 100 balloons of various sizes and put them in her room when she was gone. Got a quality video of when she comes back too!

They're quality aj, looks an amazing place and I'd love to go there sometime soon. Heard it's expensive but I wouldn't mind finding a cheap hostel and just walking around for a week. Completely different from anywhere I've been before.

Cheers, wasn't expecting to look as good on here as they do to be honest.

I went through uni so we ended up paying more than what we should've but a few who didn't but tagged along got 4 nights in a decent hotel with flights, transfers etc for around £200. General day to day stuff is alright though really. Supermarkets are pretty much what you'd pay over here and restuarants are all ok, can get a basic meal with a drink for less than 10 or pay another 5 say and get something pretty nice.

Booze in the very few bars and the singular club there are ridiculous. When we went in the club the cheapest drink was 8 euros, and in the bars pints were 5 with a single&mixer 6 euros, so you imagine that adds up very quickly.

Supermarkets are absolute dirt for alcohol though. I bought a 70cl bottle of cheap amaretto and 1.5L of coke for 5.38. Had all of it and was a decent level, did get lost on my own on the way home and spend an hour wondering round parts I hadn't been to though lol

I don't think money would be too much of an issue if I did go. I'd probably live out of the supermarket though, dunno if I'd fancy going clubbing there, sounds like it's not the done thing lol

It's more the type of place I'd go to get up at 7, walk around all day and go to bed at 9. I do fancy somewhere in Eastern Europe though for cheap booze combined with nice cities.

I think you have to just forget money in a place like Venice, there's no point going if you aren't willing to spend money seeing it and making the most of it. There were a few people who wouldn't shell out like 5 euros or something to go up the campanile at St Marks and it baffled me. One of the most spectacular views I've ever had was from up there and there are people who didn't bother for the sake of like a pint. Just seems a waste to me, and I'm far from liberal when it comes to spending.

In all honest I only did it because it was a uni trip so there was about 35 of us and it had to be done, same goes for the club really. A few of us just decided it had to be done just because it was there but again I wouldn't really do that kind of thing in any other situation. It's worth sampling the local lager though, had a couple at Yeates' in Nottingham before Forest would you believe. Went down beautifully

Anyone that watches or has seen Most Haunted should probably recognise this lady. It's Lesley Smith from the show.

She was kind enough to pose for me today, on meeting her.
