Cheers, given the quality of your pics, quite a compliment.

I'm no professional by any means. I see some spectacular work on various sites and while it's inspiring, it's also very depressing as i know i will never reach those standards.

But yeah i like yours and it's natural as well which like, no editing gone on. Would love to visit there with my camera. :)

It is a stunning place, with a photo op on every corner.

Dont knock yourself, some of your pics are superb and given time, experience and tools i think you could be as good as any. The greastest skill as i see it in Photography is spotting a good opportunity, the ones youve posted show that you can spot and frame them.

I am proud of alot of my photos don't get me wrong, i just see others work and i'm simply stunned by some of it. You don't realise how many creative and talented people there are about until you go on a site like Deviantart, for example and search about. Some stuff really does dazzle me.

Looking for models both male and female and couples from the Leicestershire area. Looking to get more shots for my portfolio and more experience as a portrait photographer. So if anyone is interested, send me an inbox message and we can discuss details. Cheers! :)

P.S. Please remember i'm not a professional and the photos won't end up looking like something from Vanity Fair. haha

This thread has inspired me to buy a digital SLR camera off eBay.

It's a Canon EOS 300D with lens, filter, 1Gb CF card, charger and a couple of batteries and arrived yesterday. Well impressed with it's condition. Paid £127.

Could someone tell me please, how do I put my photos on here? Do I have to upload them to a host first?

Yup, if you use Photobucket, that for me is easiest. Once uploaded, hover over the image and it will come up with 4 codes. Copy and paste the bottom one into here straight in the box and it should be fine.

Thanks Mikey T - I somehow knew you'd be the person to reply

This weekend might see some shots down 'Back 'o Wight', weather permitting.

Mikey (or anyone else for that matter!) - I'd genuinely be interested to hear what you think of the work of this guy, John Duckett. He's based in Norfolk and I've been a fan of his work for a while. Finally, last weekend, I bought 2 of his photos (mainly because I was at a country fair where he was exhibiting and they were reduced, therefore a bargain!).

In case you're interested I bought View from Sligachan Bridge from his Scotland Gallery and Stormy Beach from the Norfolk Coast (Thornham to Hunstanton) Gallery. (I'd upload them on here but they're copyrighted).

Mikey T, just out of interest, what software do you use to edit???

I use Photoshop CS3 and occasionally Photoscape. I try not to do too much editing though on photos as i like them to remain as natural as possible.

He has some really lovely stuff. I'm quite envious that he's been able to travel and photograph alot of those places. That's the only thing that holds me back, is money or i'd be off all over the place taking pictures, especially Snowdonia and the highlands of Scotland and Isle Of Skye. Simply stunning landscapes there.

Cool, one final question :P do you shoot in RAW???

It's just I took my Dad's old camera - 40d EOS - to the cricket on Monday and took some snaps in RAW and was surprised how good they look.

I'll upload a few when I get the time.

If you want to go places like that you need to get to Isle of Lewis and Isle of Harris both really are stunningly beautiful and for someone like you there are some fantastic photo opportunities.
