Never understood peoples love of photography seems painfully boring and people take credit for good photos when the camera is the only reason the picture looks good as for putting them in albums and trawling through them dull as...

truly spoken by someone who knows fcuk all about photography.

or not much else by the sound of it. Probably got one taste in music also doesnt like paintings (its only somebody splashing paint on a canvass) doesnt like sculpture (its only somebody chipping away at a bit of stone) doewsnt like football (its just grown men in shorts kicking a round object then kissing each other) etc. etc.

Just saw this on Facebook. How can anyone call photography boring with pictures like Mikeys and this one? Would they be willing to travel to the North pole and wait for the exact moment to take the photo?

Mikey those photos are fantastic!

Thank you mate. Still learning all the time and decided I'd do some proper research on sunrise/sunset shots rather than trying to figure things out myself which i like to do. This time i think it payed of though. :)

Thanks again mate.

I have just set it as a desk top background but it only appears in the centre. Not big enough to fill the whole screen.

This is the biggest version i can see.

I'll try that. Just found more info about the picture.

My link

What an incredible shot - even more so having learned that it was during the Super Moon that I (rather unsuccessfully) attempted to capture in March. Top job by whoever took that!

Nope... we kinda stuck to Seahouses (where we stayed) coast, or went up and down the A1 - Hadrian's Wall, Beamish, Farm places, Alnwick, Berwick etc.

I loved this picture but wanted to crop and vignette it a little to remove the legs, hope you approve.

Just got myself a Flickr, only a few ones on my new slr at the minute but will upload any old photos from my compact worth sharing and more from the slr when I get the time to go out and take some!

Here's a few favourites from my new slr, can't find out if there's a way to link them bigger due to the restrictions on Flickr but if you do want to see them properly they're at http://www.flickr.com/photos/andrewianjarman/

Just wondering how many of us here have the experience I had today (and indeed, often have) where you're driving along and you see something that would make a brilliant photo, but you haven't got your camera and even if you had, there was nowhere or no time to stop.
