Jonezy Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 Nothing like a new experiences, listening to Leicester and being calm for the last 5 minutes. Fantastic! Well done to the boys.
JakeShingler Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees! We are Top of the League say we are top of the league
Fosse Boy Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 Imagine one to two years from here, the club's bound him with a three-year contract and Fryatt's form has gone down to basics again. Is this a one-year wonder or are we soon to see a decline? Tough thing to say. And could he reproduce that form in a higher league? An even tougher call. The thing to remember is that this is the division where Fryatt made his name with Walsall, and after a couple of years of struggling at a higher level, he has now returned to his natural hunting ground in this league and is rediscovering his confidence as a goalscorer. I feel that it would be foolhardy for a Championship club to sign him as I doubt he would reproduce his current form a) at a new club with new surroundings and b) in a division where he often performed poorly for a few seasons. I really feel that a good solid season of banging 'em in week after week would do his career the world of good, and that then he should consider the challenge of proving himself in the Championship again, be it with us or someone else.
Rincewind Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 A strikers greatest asset is confidence. Matty Fryatt has bundles of it atm so he could turn it on at a higher level abeit only one. Last season the whole team lacked confidence for a greater part of the season because of results going against them whether it was bad performances or bad luck. Fryatt is enjoying his football and whether he can feels he can be guaranteed a regulary first team place somewhere else I dont know but he is certainly guranteed one here.
MC Prussian Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 Still top of the league - sing we're still top of the league!!! 3-0 - who would've thought... Fryatt in the form of a lifetime?

dave_the_fox Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 Well done Leicester, well done Fryatt another hat trick good man! Well done.
Darkzzz_ Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 Because a) he was shit the last 3 years and b) it's not just ours or the clubs decision to make. I could have named a lot more worse players than Fryatt. I don't think we have had any shining lights in the last three years have we?? I am not saying we should all be Fryatt fans because of the great season he is having so far and yes his form at Championship level was questionable. Maybe Nige is getting that extra bit out of him that others couldn't, he certainly looks sharper this season. For now I take my hat of to the lad.
EnigmaticFox Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 Can anyone one please let me what the result was????? I've lost the link since rebooting the computer. And couldn't listen to the match today. Thanks

You asked why he already hadn't seen signed up... Just because others were worse, doesn't mean we should automatically give a striker that couldn't score for toffee last year another 3 year contract in the summer just gone. He's doing great and we should do what we can to sign him again. I can fully understand why we are in this situation though and nobody at the club is to blame should he leave in the summer, they have done the right thing IMO.

Rincewind Posted 6 December 2008 Posted 6 December 2008 Its not just Fryatt though is it? The whole teams playing well. If they go up to the Championship and keep virtually the same squad they will be used to each other and maybe consolidate a position in the Championship. i doubt they will or should go up to the premier Div right away but if they can build up a strong squad it can only be good for the future.
