Does lightning strike twice in the same place? - I remember Derek Dougan scoring 20 goals before Christmas back in 66 - then the club sold him in March 67 (part way through the season) to Wolves for £50K - I think he scored a hat trick on his Wolves debut. Then they sold Banks for a similar fee - best goalkeeper in the world - but at least they had Shilton (not a bad replacement). Top scorer that season ended up being Jackie Sinclair - a cracking little winger. Apologies if this has been mentioned already

Yes I remember it as well - devastating, mind you I think i read somewhere that he only scored one goal after Christmas, I can't remember the details myself.

ahhh but where did we finish that season? us youngsters may not know hopefully we won the league.

Saw most of those Dougan goals. What an entertainer. One of my favourite centre-forwards of all time. I've only knowingly met two people from Belfast, Derek Dougan and my eldest son's wife. Top quality, both of em. George Best wasn't bad either, but I never met him.

I never saw the Doog play for us (I was only three when he left), but I did see him on Question Time a couple of years ago (he was badly wasted in UKIP).

Can't see too many other ex-City players featuring on there any time soon..
