What I heard was something like Johnson and his agent said that they would open at 20k and settle for 15k or so. They then went into Ridsdale's office where he immediately said I won't offer a penny over 32k a week. Johnson and agent exit stage left rubbing hands with glee.

Wasn't that similar scenario to Taylor/Akinbiyi/Moxey(?). Where Moxey was believed to have settled on not a penny less that £3mill and Taylor/Elsom went in and offered £5mill.
