Mickey O'Neil Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 My mate is going to be a very happy Sheep-shagger.
Matt Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 Nothing on the Official Derby site, although the assistant manager of Derby did the interview after the match. Is it going to be announced tomorrow? Just actually read the source in the original post ; Derby are expected to release a statement on Monday announcing Jewell's decision to walk away from football for the second time, following his resignation from Wigan Athletic in 2006.
Ultra Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 No great surprise. Rumours of his departure have been circulating for months. Derby have under-achieved badly this season and could easily be dragged into a relegation battle, especially if Manyoo didh out a hiding to them in the League Cup.
Jay Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 they have suffered similar problems to those that we suffered last season, The Championship is probably one if not the toughest league in Europe and to bring in like 10-11 players and hit the ground running is almost impossible, if you have a bad start then it's season over. The Championship is so unforgiving and you need to have a decent squad that have already gelled to stand any chance of success.
Matt Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 Apparently he offered his resignation in August but the Derby board rejected it.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 29 December 2008 Author Posted 29 December 2008 My mate said Hutchins is as bad as Jewell He wants Curbs or Ince
Joe. Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 Boothroyd. Yep, exactly the kind of manager Derby would go for. Wouldn't surprise me one bit to see him go there.
Darkzzz_ Posted 29 December 2008 Posted 29 December 2008 Ince could well join them, he wouldn't want to step any lower than the Championship I don't think.
Matt Posted 30 December 2008 Posted 30 December 2008 Nigel Clough is favorite apparently. Don't get me wrong he has been at Burton Albion for years and I think he's done a good job, but if we were linked with him or in their position I wouldn't be overly keen on him, No disrespect to him or Burton Albion, but who are Burton Albion compared to a Championship club. I'd want someone a little more proven personally. But like us they probably are living the past of [brian] Clough and Nigel is the next best thing, just like some of our fans living in the past wanting Walsh as our manager back when we were looking for a new manager.
Unabomber Posted 31 December 2008 Posted 31 December 2008 Peter Taylor in the running. Please let this happen.
Ajax Treesdown Posted 4 January 2009 Posted 4 January 2009 However, former England caretaker boss Peter Taylor will be appointed Derby boss if Nigel Clough decides to turn down the Rams and see out the season at Burton Albion. (News of the World)
Matt Posted 4 January 2009 Posted 4 January 2009 However, former England caretaker boss Peter Taylor will be appointed Derby boss if Nigel Clough decides to turn down the Rams and see out the season at Burton Albion. (News of the World) Cloughie do the right thing, Turn them down! Oh the fun and facts I could inform my boss of during Peter Taylor's time at Leicester City. Please, Please, Please happen.
Brainy Posted 4 January 2009 Posted 4 January 2009 The Adam Pearson connection. Not exactly the strangest appointment.
davieG Posted 4 January 2009 Posted 4 January 2009 He'd probably do quite well - his problem is how to handle a successful team. He's capable of improving a crap team but if it's successful he loses the plot.

Guest Bilo Posted 4 January 2009 Posted 4 January 2009 A manager who has never managed in the Football League or a manager who really shouldn't have done. Maybe Derby will replace us in League One instead of Forest.

Maybe Derby will replace us in League One instead of Forest. Leicester apart Taylor's got a brilliant record. I'd piss myself if he took them into the Premiership, they'd be shit-scared of letting him near the chequebook.
