pompey lad Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 apart from fryatts goals we have no other who can be a threat in this league .yes fryatt has partnered well with donkey howard you cant play howard on his own up front dickov is here to help fryatt it seems. a loanee from the premiership pompey have got ben sahar on loan from chelsea but doesnt get a look in
StanSP Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 We can't loan a player who is already on loan to another club. He would have to have his loan contract terminated by Portsmouth/Chelsea first

Gone on loan to a Dutch team today.
Smiffy Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 Chelsea's Ben Sahar goes on loan to De Graafschap The Associated PressPublished: January 3, 2009 AMSTERDAM, Netherlands: Struggling Dutch league club De Graafschap has completed a loan transfer of Chelsea striker Ben Sahar for the rest of the season. Sahar, an Israeli international, has a three-year contract with the Premier League team. He previously spent six months at Dutch club NEC Nijmegen. Sahar also had loans spells at Queens Park Rangers, Sheffield Wednesday and Portsmouth. No. 17 De Graafschap, which only has two points more than last-place FC Volendam in the league standings, has also loaned Argentine striker Hugo Bargas to second division side FC Zwolle. De Graafschap has also confirmed an interest in signing Ajax playmaker Siem de Jong on loan.
pompey lad Posted 3 January 2009 Author Posted 3 January 2009 hes going back this month .he was just an example
Stuliasz Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 I think it will be difficult to obtain anyone of particularly high quality as they know they will only be coming as backup. In terms of loaning, managers won't want to loan us players if they aren't going to get first team football and we already have enough loaned players anyway - too many and you can start to get commitment issues. The only option is perhaps to gamble on an untested but prolific lower league striker who would see a move to Leicester as his 'big chance' but that can have very mixed results.

C-man Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 'Donkey Howard' Wow, I haven't heard that one before.
Sniffer-Clarke Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 apart from fryatts goals we have no other who can be a threat in this league .yes fryatt has partnered well with donkey howard you cant play howard on his own up front dickov is here to help fryatt it seems. a loanee from the premiership pompey have got ben sahar on loan from chelsea but doesnt get a look in I think you could be right on this one, but this topic as been raised many times on RL monday nights forum and you will find two guys who been banging this drum for many weeks now is Andy from long eaton and David from coalville. If [ i hope not] MF was to pick up a serious injury i do beleive we would have problems finding where the goals are going to come from,SH is IMO a hard grafter and good at flicking on but i cant see for the life of me that he his capable of getting 15 goals even in this league never mind the next two above.
pompey lad Posted 3 January 2009 Author Posted 3 January 2009 'Donkey Howard'Wow, I haven't heard that one before. so you do agree with me ps is that howard yawning
Ashley Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 Connolly still at Sunderland hasnt had a look in and never will, i'd take him.
C-man Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 so you do agree with me ps is that howard yawning Yes he's slow, and missed a good chance today. Would we be anywhere near the top without him? Would Matty Fryatt have 23 goals this season without this 'donkey'? Come on pal, he's done more than well for us this year. I do agree we need cover though, if that's what you mean by 'new striker please'.

J.Lisemore Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 so you do agree with me ps is that howard yawning Jesus Christ , yet another person who doesnt appreciate what Howard offers to the team.
pompey lad Posted 3 January 2009 Author Posted 3 January 2009 Jesus Christ , yet another person who doesnt appreciate what Howard offers to the team. only when fryatts playing not on his own so if fryatt gets abad injury you would except howard and the other strikers weve got get real
David Guiza Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 only when fryatts playing not on his own so if fryatt gets abad injury you would except howard and the other strikers weve got get real I talk to a Bristol City fan quite often and he said that some of there fans have heard we're after Trundle. I would see him as a good signing esspecially in this division but it's more then likely complete ...

David Guiza Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 Cawabunga dude!!!! it was a quality program in all fairness
clazkel Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 I must admit i wasn't a Howard fan at the beginning of the season, but having been to most of the games home and away, he offers soo much to the team. He wins most of the headers when we are attacking and also if we are defending a corner or set piece he seems to win the ball over Tuchev, Morrison and Hobbs most of the time. He gets alot of knocks and fouls and just gets on with it. A man in the row behind me today kept taking the mick out of Howard and this was near the home bench so they must've heard him, it was embarassing, i still dont understand the criticism he recieves, it is becoming more and more annoying. That said at some point i would like to see Fryatt up front with DJ or Chambers to see what they can do, and attack defences with pace for a change. I think we have afew decent strikers as back ups but they need to get more of a chance to prove themselves.
J.Lisemore Posted 3 January 2009 Posted 3 January 2009 only when fryatts playing not on his own so if fryatt gets abad injury you would except howard and the other strikers weve got get real Yes but the point is that he hasnt got a bad injury. In my opinion i think that in this division Dickov + Campbell are decent enough cover for Fryatt.
Ultra Posted 4 January 2009 Posted 4 January 2009 Jesus Christ , yet another person who doesnt appreciate what Howard offers to the team. On yesterday's evidence, Christ is right. Along with others, Howard was out of his depth against Championship opposition. Pearson will have to get rid in the summer, if not sooner.
