Cobbo Posted 17 January 2009 Posted 17 January 2009 I think when you are playing in any game and a desicion doesnt go your way and you feel hard done by then you are going to dispute that desicion. Even though its only a friendly game. All in all the ref done well, he didnt have to come and ref the game and he did so, fairplay to the lad. Earned a few pennies aswell. Albert, you are sound during the game and afterwards. It's statements like this that are ridiculous. This is a game between mates - all city fans and we are there to have a laugh. but to state the ref had anything to do with the game is ridiculous. Rob did us all a favour and did great - moaning about him? Did he give you a dubious penalty? Yes. Just concentrate on enjoying things in these games, rather than winning because it makes you look like arses. I had a great time to be honest - made mistakes, did some good stuff, but I had a good fooking laugh. You have to stop this vindictive witch hunt every game - we are all on the same level - we all love one club.
Uncle Albert Posted 17 January 2009 Author Posted 17 January 2009 Im not being big headed, but i made to great saves! Alright then calm down Barthez. You have to stop this vindictive witch hunt every game - we are all on the same level - we all love one club. Thats news to me. Every game? Okey doke. I said he done well didnt I? Sorry i'm not someone who wont question a decision that is given. **** me shoot me down.
Bert Posted 17 January 2009 Posted 17 January 2009 Yep was nice to meet some of you, I though Jake Shingler skinning Smuts was the highlight of the game. The bloke who was talking to me during the game (don't know if anyone saw), I am sure he was Phil who was in Coronation Street, for those that watch, Phil had a fling with Gail And Eileen. He was a friend of mine who was passing by. Anyway, firstly I'd like to thank Karim for sorting the pitch, Tevez for sorting the nets and Rob for reffing. I'll be the first to put my hand up and say i did have a moan. I know it was only a friendly game, but even in these games you want the decisions to be correct or whatever, football is a passionate game, and with adrenaline running high, sometimes it's hard to keep a lid on things. But, all that is done and dusted now. The pitch was awful to play on really and limited what we could do. Was the closest one that we've played in so far though. Thought Maybes, C-Man, MTWG and Tommeh were immense today, LilDave was as good as ever and Shingler deserves a big mention too. The whole of the O21's defence are always solid, Cat Burger was absolute quality as well. Tomassi was his usual pest.

Sorry i'm not someone who wont question a decision that is given. **** me shoot me down. Every game, I did not mean, but we must stop this mentality of looking for someone to blame, no? The emphasis of the game, as it was at the pub, must be purely on the game and enjoying it. There is no need to mention the ref. It was great to have a ref for the game and that was that. He was not as good a ref as I was a year ago but did great. You won 5-3, it was fun and we were all caked in mud. Good fun. Loved it.
Fez of Mahrez Posted 18 January 2009 Posted 18 January 2009 The next game should definitely be mixed. Bert and Sparky captains (for example/arguments sake) and they each pick from a pool of 30 or so. I think O21/U21 has run its course a little bit for the time being and there's a bit of needle at the moment that's taking away from the reason we should be playing.

We need to return to the fans & friends aspect of things, ASAP.

Fez of Mahrez Posted 18 January 2009 Posted 18 January 2009 Be nice not to have chase that fooker for 1 game !!!! Agree with the statement though My other thought was Hully but he's older than you and still has to chase those two bastards around every time!! O21/U21 is getting like an overfamiliar local derby now. Anyway, still enjoyed it and would be really interested to play in a game like I describe, hopefully ASAP.

We both agreed that if the pitch wasn't so boggy, there would have been some really decent football played, because there are some quality players. If the pitch wasn't so boggy the U21's would have gone in at HT 4 goals more than they had. I thought Kilworth was pretty decent as well.
