GLC Posted 18 January 2009 Posted 18 January 2009 It was fairly acrobatic, you went sort of sprawling / diving backwards and tipped it over the bar. T'was a good stop. Average finish though, straight at you imo. that was you trying to lob me?
GLC Posted 18 January 2009 Posted 18 January 2009 That was Kilworth. oh yeah, wellthat other shot was poor ,
Cobbo Posted 18 January 2009 Posted 18 January 2009 Anyone see my tackle on lil derve? Although he then won a header I had a great time to be fair, and it is nice to post sober. As Manwell will agree I'm sure.
Finnegan Posted 18 January 2009 Posted 18 January 2009 General Smutts went one-on-one and tried to dink it over you from a pass from Cat Burger (maybe Cobbo?) and it dropped a little wide of the post. The only shots of Kilworth's I saw went horrifically wide except for one where Manwell and I were shouting "Tommo don't!" and he did anyway, although laws of probability and all of that, it wasn't a bad shot. Think you saved it or it hit a post or something? Can't remember exactly. I should, in my opinion, have scored twice past you. The first, like I said, you saved pretty well over the bar the second was hit straight at you and you just dropped to save.

Finnegan Posted 18 January 2009 Posted 18 January 2009 Gotta be said, though, Cobbo in the first half was the best keeper on the pitch. How we weren't 10 - 1 down at half time was beyond me.

Finnegan Posted 18 January 2009 Posted 18 January 2009 Yes, but you were playing for by far the better team. Maybes, C-Man and Albert did most of your hard work for you.
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 18 January 2009 Posted 18 January 2009 he did play well, but i did get beaten by 2 good shots!no chance with them.
Simi Posted 18 January 2009 Posted 18 January 2009 Shame that some of the more able Over 21's are decent in goal really. Having Cobbo in goal was good for us, even though he did a decent job in goal, then Measures went in second half which again did us a favour.
Koke Posted 18 January 2009 Posted 18 January 2009 I personally thought Tom Measures was the best player on the O21 side. He's a real handful and caused trouble. I do think he has the benefit of playing football on regular basis whereas most of the O21 play once in a blue moon. He's fit as **** though and a tireless runner.

Didn't get involved as much as I'd have liked, because I found it hard to run as much as I'd like haha. Dawks was great, real ball player & thinker on the pitch. Don't think any of the under 21's had a bad game, nor the over 21's. Some talent out there.
Cat Burger Posted 18 January 2009 Posted 18 January 2009 Enjoyed yesterday a lot, thought we were quite good just didn't have enough legs. We defended like lions for the most part. I'd probably pick out MTWG as the player that impressed me the most from the young uns, cos I knew Bert was going to be their best player even before the game Why hasn't my 40 yard goal been mentioned? Did it/didn't it?, in short it did! Interesting ideas about the next game, I'd like it to be the same as long as we get the players who turn 22 before then
Random Burglar Posted 18 January 2009 Posted 18 January 2009 I wouldnt mind playing in the next game rather than reffing it!
Corky Posted 18 January 2009 Posted 18 January 2009 GLC managed to make it home then. I thought he would fall over after leaving the pub. Very nice to meet some of you at last, and it was a good game. Enjoyable day.
stez Posted 18 January 2009 Posted 18 January 2009 I wouldnt mind playing in the next game rather than reffing it! sorry you had to take the flack you did, it was supposed to be a laugh and a kick around. some people need to lighten up, just a little bit. i've lost some games in my life, and had some dodgy refs decisions again me, but i'm still alive, the life wasn't sucked away from me.
Katy Posted 18 January 2009 Posted 18 January 2009 I wouldnt mind playing in the next game rather than reffing it! Thanks for reffing Rob, I felt the need to apologise to you today because of the flack you received, really was no need and I felt responsible as I had roped you in. Overall was a cracking match and good that it was closer than normal and I agree with some that the 021 U21 thing has ran its course now. We are much better when we are fighting the same corner against another forum or the 5/6 a side. I have taken about a million photos which I will put up in a bit and some video of the free kick goal as well. Aftermath apologies go to: Finners and Maybes - you know why Foxes Talk youth - for scaring them with my drunken ways Ched - for forcing him to speak to me and Fez for drunken late night text messages (although to be fair, Smuts was far worse by all accounts) Was nice to meet: Fox123 Corky and GLC Top lads

Finnegan Posted 18 January 2009 Posted 18 January 2009 No apologies necessary. It was all good banter right?

Katy Posted 18 January 2009 Posted 18 January 2009 Nice meet you 2 Sorry Jake, it was actually nice to meet you. I had forgotten as you disappeared fairly swiftly afterwards.
