Corky Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 did he actually say anything against the holocaust? or was is more aimed at the bbc for believing that the only interesting family history is one that involves slavery or nazi germany? I think that was the main point of his comments.

Uncle Albert Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 Chris Moyles is priceless. Some people have no fun in them. If you don't want to listen to Moyles in the morning listen to some sad bastard talking about Hedgehogs on Radio 4 or something.

Guest Bilo Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 Chris Moyles faces reprimand over Auschwitz joke Breakfast radio presenter Chris Moyles is being investigated by BBC managers after making a joke about the Auschwitz concentration camp. The BBC Radio One host made the remark during an on-air discussion about his forthcoming appearance on the genealogy television programme Who Do You Think You Are? The 34-year-old, whose parents are Irish, said: "I went off to Ireland and other places to film and unlike a lot of the Who Do You Think You Are? shows I didn't go to Auschwitz. Pretty much everyone goes there whether or not they're Jewish. They just seem to pass through there on their way to Florida." About one million Jews were murdered at Auschwitz, the largest of the Nazi concentration camps. A spokeswoman for the BBC said the corporation was looking into the remarks. "We regret his comments were misjudged and we are speaking to Chris," she told The Sun. The remarks come in the wake of the public outcry generated by BBC Radio 2 presenters Jonathan Ross and Russell Brand who made obscene jokes about the grand-daughter of Fawlty Towers actor Andrew Sachs. It is thought Moyles was referring to previous Who Do You Think You Are? participants including Jerry Springer and Natasha Kaplinsky. Springer, pioneer of the American confessional television public-participation show, was born in Britain to Jewish parents who fled Nazi Germany three days before the outbreak of the Second World War. His grandmothers did not escape and both were murdered in the Holocaust. The BBC programme tracked his disturbing investigation into their fate in the Jewish ghettos and death camps. BBC newsreader Kaplinsky made a similar journey, breaking down in tears after travelling to Poland to discover her ancestors were murdered by Nazis. Miss Kaplinsky, 34, learned that her great-uncle Abraham killed himself in 1942, days after the Nazis murdered his two-year-old daughter.

If you don't want to listen to Moyles in the morning listen to some sad bastard talking about Hedgehogs on Radio 4 or something. I'll have you know that "Tales from Hedgehog Lodge" is a quality piece of radio programming.
Kilworthfox Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 Personally I can not stand the bolke. repitition must be the pinacle of radio entartainment and comedy if this guy is the best they can get. He is like marmite or Dr Pepper for taste. I just can't stick him! Also Jo Whiley, Zoe Ball, Chappers, make me *shudder* to the point of rage
Uncle Albert Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 I'll have you know that "Tales from Hedgehog Lodge" is a quality piece of radio programming. I'll tune in one morning then. That reminds me what was the Cartoon programme called with all the animals in the woods? The Fox was the leader? You strike me as a person who would know Alex. 'Womandriver, Womandriver.' Brilliant comedy for Radio.

I listen to XFM Manchester or Talk Sport in the morning Please remind us again Chris how much you earn and what you do with your wages from tax payers money
Fosse Boy Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 I don't really see the problem with those comments. It's not as if he's trying to be directly offensive to those affected by the holocaust, is it? Storm in a teacup as far as I'm concerned.
Samilktray Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 I listen to XFM Manchester or Talk Sport in the morning Please remind us again Chris how much you earn and what you do with your wages from tax payers money I hope he blows it all, and enjoys himself.

He is like marmite or Dr Pepper for taste. I just can't stick him! Also Jo Whiley, Zoe Ball, Chappers, make me *shudder* to the point of rage Why can't Jo Whiley say something mildly offensive? Then maybe we could get her out, along with Sara Coxface
Guest Bilo Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 did he actually say anything against the holocaust? or was is more aimed at the bbc for believing that the only interesting family history is one that involves slavery or nazi germany? That seemed to be the gist of his comments rather than joking about the Holocaust itself. If you listen to Chris Moyles, you'll realise he cares little for the PC approach and that's what attracts people to his show. It's like when people state that he is homophobic towards Aled on the show, ignoring the fact that they're actually good friends off set.
Uncle Albert Posted 23 January 2009 Posted 23 January 2009 I listen to XFM Manchester or Talk Sport in the morning Please remind us again Chris how much you earn and what you do with your wages from tax payers money Why are you complaining then if you didnt hear it? Are you one of these people who has heard about comments off a mate and you think you can jump on the bandwagon? Bet you complained about Ross/Brand didnt you? Even though you didnt hear it. Some people.
