Thracian Posted 28 January 2009 Posted 28 January 2009 Everyone went up around me for the penalty claim... There's no doubt in my mind there was a handball but was there an infringement previously, like a push on the apparent offender? Not that we deserved a spot kick for our evening's efforts.
lildave3 Posted 28 January 2009 Posted 28 January 2009 I thought it was a pen too, but Joe and a couple of others thought the handball was by Hobbs. Not sure.
5waller5 Posted 28 January 2009 Posted 28 January 2009 It was a certain penalty for me .... but just showed the apathy in the stands as i seemed to be the only person near me that reacted ...
Ultra Posted 28 January 2009 Posted 28 January 2009 I thought it was a pen too, but Joe and a couple of others thought the handball was by Hobbs. Not sure. Radio Leicester said the first handball was a Brighton one.
lildave3 Posted 28 January 2009 Posted 28 January 2009 Radio Leicester said the first handball was a Brighton one. I'll wait and see if they show it on TV somewhere.
Raj Posted 28 January 2009 Posted 28 January 2009 Definetly a pen. We win 1-0. Stop moaning you fcukers!!!
Guest Posted 28 January 2009 Posted 28 January 2009 Most blatant handball I've seen in a while. One of the Brighton players punched it away. I had a cracking view from the 5th row of the Kop too so was only about 25-30 feet away and it was directly in front of me
carterfox90 Posted 28 January 2009 Posted 28 January 2009 Radio Leicester said the first handball was a Brighton one. spot on they handballed it first then hobbs did & thats the one the ref saw
MC Prussian Posted 28 January 2009 Posted 28 January 2009 How quickly Fryatt's handball against 'uddersfield is forgotten...
DB11 Posted 28 January 2009 Posted 28 January 2009 Well Hobbs caught it so tbh it weren't really a penalty

But the ref obviously didn't see it - what can you do. instant video replays? I don't think so, what comes around goes around, we'll get away with one soon.

maddog Posted 28 January 2009 Posted 28 January 2009 I thought it was a pen too, but Joe and a couple of others thought the handball was by Hobbs. Not sure. I definately thought it was Hobbs, unlike the 100s of fans around me screaming for a pen Think i blinked at the wrong time so didn't see it clearly.
demon_dog Posted 28 January 2009 Posted 28 January 2009 Definetely a valid penalty claim. It was a Maradona type punch. Bloody ref didn't see that either.

Don't know how you saw it Stig, I thought you were gazing lovingly at a certain FT legend for most of the match.
Stig the Lawnmower Posted 28 January 2009 Posted 28 January 2009 Don't know how you saw it Stig, I thought you were gazing lovingly at a certain FT legend for most of the match. yes, you're right. don't know how thracian can be so vocal on this site, yet so calm and quite at the walkers. he was like a kitten! I've still got ear ache
Stig the Lawnmower Posted 29 January 2009 Posted 29 January 2009 You mean like Fryatt's goal against Huddersfield? That was his arm. exactly. you can't take the human element out of football, otherwise we might as well load the teams on a computer and play virtual football. how about the penalties in the play offs against Blackburn and Swindon? and that penalty against chelsea in the cup that got danny baker the sack from the bbc. pissed off at the time, but great talking points. and our equaliser against derby in the play offs when ewan sat on their goalie, the corner against yeovil, and mattys handball. it's what footballs all about, celebrate it.
