Corky Posted 12 February 2009 Posted 12 February 2009 Makes you wonder how the thousands of kids survived at Filbo through the years, they probably all grew up to be murderers and sex pest no doubt. I'm the second
Daggers Posted 12 February 2009 Posted 12 February 2009 Reality check: The Kop is the Family Stand is the Kop Both have families, both have children galore and neither contribute much by the way of atmosphere. You can call the Family Stand SK1, The Kop or The ****ing Killzone - it won't make a jot of difference to the noise at games.

Daggers Posted 12 February 2009 Posted 12 February 2009 Ban all under 15's and over 50's See yea! Anyone booing, anyone moaning about the half-time food/coffee, anyone looking grumpy before kick-off, anyone who can walk in a straight line, anyone with a notepad, anyone looking at the away section for more than one glance every fifteen seconds, anyone passing comment on the scoreboard not working, anyone still going "Aaaaagh!" five minutes after a goal kick and anyone in full top to tail Tops Tiles logo'd kit.
Guest Posted 12 February 2009 Posted 12 February 2009 What I wanna know is which lightbulb decided to put the away fans next to the family stand in the first place? Why would you want to move the Kop? Surely it's location makes it the Kop? Why not move the away fans? no but our Safety Advisory Group is 1 of the worst in the country I don't know why I bother, as nobody obviously pays any attention, but the away fans will not be moved. The stadium was designed to accommodate the away fans in that corner. It has segregation in place, it has police cells etc down there, etc etc etc. It's not going to happen.

That will leave us with about 200 supporters (I'll be one of those banned ).
Bellend Sebastian Posted 12 February 2009 Posted 12 February 2009 I think everyone should make a special effort to make LOADS of noise at the next game, for the club to record it, and play it back at future games over the Walkers' ridiculously loud PA system. No one need ever bother trying to create an atmosphere ever again. In fact, if we take things to their logical conclusion, no one need actually go to games anymore. Think of the money we'd save!
davieG Posted 12 February 2009 Author Posted 12 February 2009 If they ever do this I will eat cardboard. No big deal that!
Kilworthfox Posted 12 February 2009 Posted 12 February 2009 The best idea if this is to be given any consideration by the club or safety bods is that Families should kick up a fuss at being near to those ruffian away fans! The club cares more for their needs than people in the KOP who want a sing song! Why don't people go and sit in the family stand anyway????????????????

leicesterseddon Posted 12 February 2009 Posted 12 February 2009 the away section will never be moved due to reasons mentioned ealier in this thread. fans make the noise and not the ground, so in reality a 'ground with a shit atmosphere' is actually a ground full of fans who make a shit atmosphere. the 'kop' is now effectively another family stand, with the noisier fans having migrated to L1/K1 etc. long ago, which is why the atmosphere from the kop is now shite. every club that's been in a new ground within the past 10 years has this same problem, with people who have sat/stood together for years being split up in their new stadium. this is exactly what has happened at the emerites, with the old north bank supporters getting scattered around the lower tier when they bought STs in the new ground. i may take years but things will sort themselves out as fans sort things out between themselves by moving to the area that best suits them. we were at filbert street for 111 years; we've been at the walkers for under 10. rome wasn't built in a day FFS. we aren't alone i this and tbh the walkers (unbelievably) actually has a better atmosphere than a number of other grounds i've visited, including some old ones.
Rich Fox Posted 12 February 2009 Posted 12 February 2009 Can anyone tell me why it would be such a problem to move the away fans into the corner next to the kop and dont say could cause trouble because there right next to l1 and the bloody family stand now anyway, and I dont but that crap about getting the away fans away better there is loads of room behind the east stand. The thing that puts me off moving the kop to the north stand is you have the sun inyour eyes for the whole game we should leave the familys stand there. This is the one and only solution to the problems with atmosphere at the walkers and I know some season ticket holders would have to move but I believe it would be better for the kop and much better for the family stand.
