Midlandsfox Posted 6 March 2009 Posted 6 March 2009 I spoke to Martin Allen, over 6 months ago, decent guy to be fair to him, and he said that out of all the signings made he only authorised one, and the rest were already done deals by Milan Mandaric, Allen begged Mandaric to sign Darius Henderson from Watford and had agreed £500k for his services, he descriptions of various players was that Cort was knackered and had passed his best, Kaebi never in a million years would he sign him, as he felt was weak, and physically not strong enough to play in the coca cola championship. Every day turning up to work he would be given players he felt were not adequate, Sappleton was a referal from someone in the Youth academy and felt he was a waste. Fulop he got from his cousin who recommended him from Fulops time at Spurs, and that Mandaric basically was using Leicester city as his own version of championship manager, when he came out on the pitch against Watford to the half way line, was to show the players they had no fear and to look at the crowd and see the good people, and to face them with chest pumped out and give them what they wanted. In fairness he was a decent chap, and wanted it at Leicester differences of opinions were there and he wanted to do it his way not Milans Certain players when he arrived were not up for it and had a bad attitude, Fryatt being the main culprit and said if his attitude had been better last year he would have done the same as he has done this year, he also felt that Megson would have kept Leicester in championship and that Ian Holloway had no clue to what he was doing and was totally out of his depth, and he commented that Leicester City has the right man now in the managers chair, he is looking forward to tomorrow and wants to applaud the supporters for there support of him in his short tenure.

I'd like to believe that but he's made the same balls up at Cheltenham.

Asha Posted 6 March 2009 Posted 6 March 2009 Makes no sense does it? Especially as it's only 6 months since he took the job there, if that.
StanSP Posted 6 March 2009 Posted 6 March 2009 To be honest, I don't care what he has to say. It's all in the past what happened at the start of last season. We are where we are now and currently on course to go back to the Championship and getting three points tomorrow is where all attentions should be focussed.
Munzie Posted 6 March 2009 Posted 6 March 2009 If you rearrange the letters of midlands fox, add some more, and then take some away you get Martin Allen. Midlands Fox IS Martin Allen!
Midlandsfox Posted 6 March 2009 Author Posted 6 March 2009 He also told me about how he asked Jimmy Floydd Hasslebaink and Robbie Fowler that he had no place in his squad and couldnt careless how much they were being paid nor their reputations, so he stopped us from £50k worth of over paid wages, Mandaric according to him had all but signed Hasslebaink and that is why Mr Allen and Mandaric fell out, as he was another Milan Signing. Based on Milans signings he made last summer wondered where he finished on champ manager?

Allen did him a massive favour there! However your initial posts dates don't match up with your statements
Daggers Posted 6 March 2009 Posted 6 March 2009 Mandaric according to him had all but signed Hasslebaink and that is why Mr Allen and Mandaric fell out, as he was another Milan Signing. We know Mandaric sorted JFH for the club and Allen refused him - that isn't news at all...but this isn't why they fell out, Allen has gone on record to say that he fell to pieces in the role. If he felt strongly enough about any other signing being forced upon him he could have taken exactly the same line or simply quit. The man is a poor man's Venables and continues to show that he is unable to make decent signings or run a club.
Corky Posted 6 March 2009 Posted 6 March 2009 Will he walk on to the pitch ten minutes before kick-off, spreading his arms to acclaim every stand?
Daggers Posted 6 March 2009 Posted 6 March 2009 Will he walk on to the pitch ten minutes before kick-off, spreading his arms to acclaim every stand? Do I need to remind anyone that this game never happened?
Corky Posted 6 March 2009 Posted 6 March 2009 Do I need to remind anyone that this game never happened? Me wasn't on the forum then, so me didn't know you wasn't there like
lefox Posted 6 March 2009 Posted 6 March 2009 I hope this is true, I think Allen was a decent bloke and felt sorry for him. I hope for his sake Cort was a mandaric signing... jeez
Ultra Posted 7 March 2009 Posted 7 March 2009 I spoke to Martin Allen, over 6 months ago, decent guy to be fair to him, and he said that out of all the signings made he only authorised one That would've been Campbell. And did Allen tell you WHY he authorised that one, and how much commission we ended up paying Campbell's agent? The "poor man's Venables" description is an apt one.
