Ultra Posted 17 March 2009 Posted 17 March 2009 Yesterday's parade passed off peacefully in the end. Many local folk turned out to applaud the return of their relatives and neighbours. No demonstrations by Muslims or anyone else were reported. Still disturbing, though, to see a BNP presence in the city centre for the first time in decades. I won't mourn if the Market Tavern shuts down in the next few months..
Edmund Posted 17 March 2009 Posted 17 March 2009 True storyAn incident occurred in a supermarket recently, when the following was witnessed: A Muslim woman dressed in a Burkha (a black gown and face mask) was standing with her shopping in a queue at the checkout. When it was her turn to be served, as she reached the cashier, she made a loud remark about the English Flag lapel pin which the female cashier was wearing on her blouse. The cashier reached up and touched the pin and said, "Yes, I always wear it proudly. My son serves abroad with the forces and I wear it for him." The Muslim woman then asked the cashier when she was going to stop bombing and killing her countrymen, explaining that she was Iraqi. At that point, a gentleman standing in the queue stepped forward and interrupted with a calm and gentle voice: "Excuse me, but hundreds of thousands of men and women, just like this lady's son, have fought and sacrificed their lives so that people just like YOU can stand here in England, which is MY country, and allow you to blatantly accuse an innocent check-out cashier of bombing YOUR countrymen. "It is my belief that if you were allowed to be as outspoken as that in Iraq, which you claim to be YOUR country, then we wouldn't need to be fighting there today. However, now that you have learned how to speak out and criticise the English people who have afforded you the protection of MY country, I will gladly pay the cost of a ticket to help you pay your way back to Iraq. When you get there, and if you manage to survive for being as outspoken as you are here in England, then you should be able to help straighten out the mess which YOUR Iraqi countrymen have got you into in the first place, which appears to be what you have come to MY country to avoid." Apparently the queue cheered and applauded. Source? Im not doubting that this isn't true but did someone have a pen and pad out writing his every words? Sounds like bnp propaganda to me.

The only reason a person wouldn't of been free to say that in Iraq was because of our leaders putting a dictator in charge of that country in the first place. And then supporting him by selling allsorts of dirty weapons to him. We sold him chemical weapons and then when he used them the same people who sold them to him said "look what this bastard has done". Some people can see straight through set-ups like this. Some can't. Hundreds of thousands of men and women (including some of my family members) have not fought for our freedom as we keep being told, they have fought to further enrich and empower leaders of empires. "interrupted with a calm and gentle voice" haha. You have to laugh

ASH17LCFC Posted 17 March 2009 Posted 17 March 2009 I was once in line in tesco's and the guy behind me was wearing a Welsh Rugby top. The next thing a little old woman went up to him and slapped him round his face. The whole supermarket just started clapping.

Finnegan Posted 17 March 2009 Posted 17 March 2009 I wish we built a wall round Wales like we did with Scotland. Technically the Romans built that wall to keep the British out. The English did build a wall to keep the Welsh out. It's called Offa's Dyke and was built by the king of Mercia (the Midlands.)

Finnegan Posted 17 March 2009 Posted 17 March 2009 I can't think of a worst place to be born in Liverpool, Greater Manchester, Hull, Leeds, Wakefield, Middlesbrough, Birkenhead, Wigan, Bolton, Blackburn, Carlisle, Oldham, Huddersfield... you get the idea.

Did you know that Khan's proper name was Khan Nooen Singh, and is a Sikh, and as the story goes he escaped India during 1984, during the sikh genocidal attacks, this drove him to madness and hence his genetically enhanced self came to blows against Captian Kirk!!!
Finnegan Posted 17 March 2009 Posted 17 March 2009 Why single out the northern towns, and leave out London, one of the biggest cesspits of all? Because Ash thinks he's a Northerner. And I'd rather live in London than most of those places (with marginal exception.)
