Whats wrong with the 2nd one
StanSP Posted 14 March 2009 Author Posted 14 March 2009 Whats wrong with the 2nd one I presume that it's a bit rude on the visitor's part towards the chef. The chef may have cooked it to the visitor's taste and yet you still alter it without seeing how it tastes in the first place
AoWW Posted 14 March 2009 Posted 14 March 2009 Must admit, I can't abide people who are rude to waiters/waitresses - really winds me up.
StanSP Posted 14 March 2009 Author Posted 14 March 2009 Me neither AOWW. I saw one of my mates from my old school working at a Frankie and Benny's. Got chatting and he said he works 6 days a week, with a couple of those days being 11am to 11pm. It's wrong to give these kind of people stick when they work such laboring hours. Of course though, if the waiter is rude to you, then to be honest, there's no harm in giving them a taste (sorry!) of their own medicine.

Though sometimes you find that, if you treat people nicely, smile etc, they will automatically be nice to you. And you DO want your waiter to be nice to you (and not to mess with your food)...
DB11 Posted 14 March 2009 Posted 14 March 2009 What is wrong with 7 and 10? Why tip them? They get paid to serve you

Guest Posted 14 March 2009 Posted 14 March 2009 Only number 3 for me I had a great time on that date, sufficed to say that she didn't
Jordan Posted 14 March 2009 Posted 14 March 2009 Does #2 count if I add pepper instead of salt? TBH even though #2 is a cardinal sin against the gentleman's code, I don't even think most people even have any idea that it is, so it's a faux pas that's not usually caught unless one is looking out for it. Besides that, I've only done #3, but never to the point of getting wrecked. I'm a generous tipper when I can afford to be because I've worked at a restaurant for a few summers and I know all about what a waiter (and the rest of the staff) goes through. I could only consider not leaving the tip if the service was of the poorest quality and/or if my date was so offended by the service that I'd stiff on the tip just to get on her good side. If you're gonna lick the plate, you shouldn't be allowed out of the house let alone go on a date
Thracian Posted 15 March 2009 Posted 15 March 2009 None. But pepper instead of salt might have cost me.
