maddog Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 A few weeks ago this game was just an exciting local derby, now with Peterborough collecting 21 from a possible 24 points in their last 8 games, its a lot more interesting. Meanwhile Mk Dons have collected just 11 points from their last 8 games, with ourselves with just 13 points from our last 8 games and faint hopes of 100+ points in the league disappearing fast. So P'boro have gained 10 points on the Dons and 8 points on us, and have come from lingering in the playoff places to our main rivals for the League title. Hopefully it will be an exciting game, and with it being standing the atmosphere should improve on the Dons away game. I would love to see us win 4-0 again, but we don't know how to play football along the floor, so without Howard again we may struggle. I will go for an entertaining 2-2 draw like the Dons game

But my views will probably change over the week!
Asha Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 Think we'll get beat 2-0. Peterborough will really, really up for this. Charlie Lee and Mackail-Smith with the goals.
leftsideoverhere Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 We will, again, pick ourselves up from a disappointing performance, and despite having half the first team out for one reason or another we'll scrape a 2-1 victory, thus putting us comfortably back in the driving seat and confirming that NP is indeed King of league one. Fryatt early doors, and, er, Birchenall Dickov off the bench for the winner? Although why I'm bothering with this, when we could just ask Ian C what's going to happen, I don't know...
BlabyFox Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 I'm expecting us to takean early lead then dominate the whole game until they equalise in the 93rd minute.

Father Ted Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 This game at the minute is just impossible to predict. After losing to Tranmere and then beating Millwall, after what happened last time we played them and how different our away form is - it could be a very interesting match.
MC Prussian Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 I'm not predicting anything right now - maddog early as hell once more. Gimme some time to devour this result today and think about the Posh match in the next few days...
Joe. Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 They're in shit-hot form, we're not. I don't want to settle for a draw, but I wouldn't argue with one at this stage. Just a matter of avoiding defeat really.
soley118 Posted 21 March 2009 Posted 21 March 2009 think these will have learned from their drumming at the walkers and I expect to see to cagey teams who fear of conceding that's why I'm going for a 0-0 draw which won't hurt us at all

Sorry im sure ive been earlier I have been doing them later recently, but todays result sank in quite quickly for me as it was Colchester who had all the chances in the 2nd half, and i thought we were lucky to get a point, so went away happy with a draw. Unlike all those other draws, Stockport, Brighton, Oldham, where i went away pissed off with a point. All in all 5 draws in 6 home games, scoring just 3 goals (discounting the Cheltenham) is extremely poor by anyones standards, and frankly horrific for a side well clear at the top of the league for a fair chunk of the season.

Koke Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 This has deja-vu written all over it. Loads of people were pessimistic going into the Millwall game, and we came back with 3 points. And remember, Millwall were shit hot prior to us playing them having won 4 on the trot iirc.

You're only doing them about 30 mins later than you did. Try starting it on Wednesday.
maddog Posted 22 March 2009 Author Posted 22 March 2009 You're only doing them about 30 mins later than you did.Try starting it on Wednesday. When i did that, Joey B ended up doing it and costing us 3 points at Tranmere
Ford Super Sunday Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Although why I'm bothering with this, when we could just ask Ian C what's going to happen, I don't know... This is a tough one for me. As the immense pessemist I am, I would bet my house on Peterborough winning this game at least 2-0, with our depleated squad, being away, not playing consistantly well, and peterborough being hotter than a fresh dog shit. At the same time, the niggly feeling of the fact Peterborough were on a hot streak the last time we played them, when they played pretty well, coming at us... but we were immense, dealt with that style of play, closed them down and destroyed them really. Personally, I see us losing 3-0. But if we did go and win, I wouldnt be surprised, becuase the last time Peterborough came at us we thumped them. But its the depleated squad that gets to be... strength in depth is an issue. And for what seems to be the first time this season, we are being forced to dip into our reserves for players. (never know, the mighty Aman Verma might make it onto the bench) But to be a pessemist. 3-0 defeat, annoying piss taking from peterborough... and i bet i end up behind a gurder in the stand knowing my luck. (oh, and i bet it pisses it down) Could be worse, we could be Forest!

suffolk fox Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Folks we have four players out international call ups, suspension, injuries, No King, Mattock, Howard or Cleverly. They will be well up for this as we trounced em 4-0 at our place. They have a good home record they beat Leeds, Drew with MK Dons, beat Sucnthorpe. We will be lucky to draw, BUT we do play better away from home 1-1 draw? I hope it is!

maddog Posted 22 March 2009 Author Posted 22 March 2009 Surely they have some international players playing for their country too? You know what i don't think they do. Could be wrong though but i've never heard or read of a P'Boro player being called up for a British team or any world team.
maddog Posted 22 March 2009 Author Posted 22 March 2009 3-0 loss. Can't see us losing by 3 goals considering we haven't once all season.
Asha Posted 22 March 2009 Posted 22 March 2009 Can't see us losing by 3 goals considering we haven't once all season. Peterborough hadn't lost by four goals until they came to us in December.
