Fryatt

Was that not more of Iain Hume?

How did Hume score compared to Fryatt?

How shite was Fryatt compared to Hume?

Hume was never as poor as Fryatt.

Fryatt has always had a better footballing brain than Hume, we could all see that on a match day.

And although I liked Hume, he was not scoring the goals that we needed. Sure he was in a very poor side, and sometimes found himself out of position on the right, but he still wasn't scoring enough goals and I didn't have the confidence in Hume to score more goals because he isn't that type of player.

In Fryatt, I have the confidence.

I have the confidence that he can go on and do what he has done in League 1. If you look back to when we were in the championship, Fryatt scored goals, but the goals were great. There is no doubt that he is the best finisher at the club and with the correct distribution, the correct attitude and the confidence to do so, he can become a top championship striker.

Enough said about Hume, I don't like the man anymore.

What and Matty 'League one goal ace' Fryatt was?? :S

Dont get me wrong I think Fryatt will do alright this season after the year we had in league one. He will have no doubt got his confidence back, but to come out with statements that Hume didn't score the goals we needed, when Matty Fryatt's goals I could count on one hand seems a little strange.

For some reason, In every season Hume played, I remember him being top scorer. Or did I just dream that?

True story

Think he was joint top one of the years but they were never prolific goal scoring tallies, kind of summed our predicament up really

I can count Hume's goals' on one hand aswell apart from one season where he scored '14' - 2006/07.

What I meant to say was that Hume wasn't a palific goalscorer, but then again we didn't have the money to buy a top goalscorer.

Fryatt is more of a natural goalscorer than Hume although Hume gave 110% merely every game.

Remember, Matt Fryatt was injured a couple of times and didn't really get a chance with managers apart from Kelly and Nigel Pearson.

Fryatt has scored some great goals in the championship.

Hume was best of a bad bunch, along with 1 or 2 others, I wasn't sad to see any go.

Agreed

I wasn't sad to see Hume, McAuley and Stearman go.

Like Pearson, I don't want any player to be at the club that doesn't want to be here and although Hume tried as much as he did - when we needed him most he stabbed us in the back.

It was good ridance to all of them and I hope Barnsley get relegated one of these seasons because it wasn't actually a good move like Stearman's.

No comment on Gareth McAuley.

If I remember correctly though, he didn't actually want to go. I don't really blame the guy

lol He was forced out of the club mate as many people with inside knowledge have said so.

Iain Hume 07/08 - 10 goals - 2hands

Iain Hume 06/07 - 14 goals

My point is duly proven

Ok then, I take your point.

And didn't know he was forced out of the club, Nigel says on the DVD that

'the players that wanted to go, came into my office and told me. And I want know player at this club that doesn't want to be here' so I was reading between the lines and thinking of Stearman, McAuley and Hume.

So, if he was forced out of the club, I take what I said back.

Seems from this thread that you don't know that much regarding Fryatt or Hume.

Hume came out in the Merc and said he did not want to leave, then a few days later signed for Barnsley for £1.2M, club forced him out because we needed the money, so sources on here said after the transfer, and quoting Hume.

Hume was appreciated very much because of his goals (him always being top goalscorer) and his effort & attitude. He always ran his socks off whilst playing for Leicester, not even his haters could take that away from him.

I hope Fryatt succeeds, but I don't have that much faith in him as he had scored goals in Div 3 before, and no doubt will get some goals IF we can provide a decent service to him, I just do not see Fryatt as that guy who is a 20 - 25+ a season man in The Championship, even with last season's 27 in Div 3.

:crylaugh: :crylaugh:

One of the top 10 worst more like, just look at his abysmal goalscoring record in the Championship.

We still haven't signed any strikers, so if Fryatts doesn't repeat his League One antics we are likely to go down.

A touch overblown, even apocalyptic.

As last season showed, there are plenty of other potential goalscorers in the squad, apart from Fryatt.
