JoeyB Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 We need to sign Drogba & Torres. With Milans money + our away support (MK Dons ) we could get any player we wanted. After all we are a MASSIVE club, everyone wants to play for us.
Guest Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 Fryatt had fook all service today from anybody. He ain't big enough to win those long balls that we keep pumping forward, hence the reason why he's been less effective with Howard out. Let's not forget that we wouldn't be anywhere near where we are without him this season so get it into perspective for fooks sake. I would however like to see Chambers at least on the bench for the Carlisle match
woody01530 Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 Beckfords leeds, as you'll find out on easter monday, assuming he doesn't get himself suspended (again)

I would however like to see Chambers at least on the bench for the Carlisle match Howards only been out for these 2 games. Fryatt has been shit ever since his new deal, which was always going to happen. 18 goals in 21 games, new deal- 5 goals in 19 games- shitness. Massively concerned about next season, we need 3 new strikers, and who the fook could Pearson actually sign Fryatt and Howard were both useless last season in the Champ, Fryatt has been poor in his last 19 games, i can't see either of them impressing in the Championship.
Maybes Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 Matty Fryatt put on your fecking scoring boots sunshine. I am getting more anxious by the minute becuase of you failing to score yet AGAIN. Penis. I need money.

I know Howard's only been out for 2 games but that's an incredibly cynical way to look at it. For most of the season Fryatt's done more than just score goals. He did look a little lethargic today though I have to admit. In the last two games without Howard we have faced Col U (who we almost ALWAYS draw with) and one of the form teams in the league in Peterborough. In all honestly, who couldn't have seen those two results coming even if we had Howard. It's more to do with the fact that we haven't adapted our play to compensate for not having a 'big man' up front. There's been times during this season when we've played some lovely football by keeping it on the floor and passing it around, I haven't seen much of it in the last few weeks but we ARE capable of it with this squad.
Father Ted Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 Beckfords leeds, as you'll find out on easter monday, assuming he doesn't get himself suspended (again) Oh how we need Tunchev to pick him up and put him in his pocket again!
Guest ttfn Posted 28 March 2009 Posted 28 March 2009 Call me crazy (many already have today so it's nothing new). But maybe. Just maybe. Fryatt's dip in form since the new year has had nothing to do with his new contract. Rather it's to do with the fact that Tunchev has been out injured. That may sound far fetched but hear me out. Playing against somebody that good in training every day is going to make you think about what you're doing more - improve your touch, find space more efficiently etc. The games Fryatt hasn't scored in before Tunchev was injured when he was playing were Hereford (one half), Leeds and one other (Leyton Orient)? I'd like to hear people's thoughts on this

Ultra Posted 29 March 2009 Posted 29 March 2009 To be fair on Fryatt, the service from the midfield has declined drastically in recent weeks, whether or not Howard's been playing alongside him.
Dan Posted 29 March 2009 Posted 29 March 2009 Don't hate on me for writing this..but ever since we offered him a new contract.. he's been slipping.. and his performance today (from what i've heard) was the worst he's put in this season.. he seems to have lost all confidence, finesse, quality that he had before.. is there something outside of football thats troubling him?? I was hoping someone on here could shed some light on the subject.. because I for one, along with alot of other fans, are baffled... You've actually beat me to posting this, I couldn't agree more. I'm not joking he has been next to useless for the past month or so, and tbh I reckon theres not enough competition in the squad for places, and this is also why I think Lloyd Dyers form has slipped.
Dan Posted 29 March 2009 Posted 29 March 2009 :laugh:Once again, its of no relevance but I couldnt give a fuck about his attitude, Beckfords 1 hell of a striker on his day, and Id only be bothered about abilitity. Tbh I can see where your coming from but attitude is important. Peterborough have a squad no where near as good as ours when it comes to ability, but they outfought us, and its becoming a regular thing and im fooking sick of it. It always pisses me off to lose but what really gets me is when we are well outfought, like today, Tranmere and Millwall at home etc.
Daggers Posted 29 March 2009 Posted 29 March 2009 ...is there something outside of football thats troubling him?? My sources inside the club say that he is worried about the current economic climate and that he still hasn't overcome his grief for Jade Goody. fryatt is nothing without howard Name me a list of strikers at this level who would be able to aquit themselves well working alongside Dickov or Hayles? One minute Fryatt was shit, then he became a God...and now we see the inexorable shift of knees jerking back to hating him again. It really is pathetic. The lad is one of the biggest reasons we have ridden the majority of the season at the top of the table; demonstrating swift turn of pace, close control and an eagle-eye for goal in the process. I'd imagine a load of you were delighted yesterday afternoon - you only seem to be happy when it rains.

Remind us all, just how often did we see these qualities on display from him yesterday? Or indeed, during the past two months?
Daggers Posted 29 March 2009 Posted 29 March 2009 Remind us all, just how often did we see these qualities on display from him yesterday?Or indeed, during the past two months? I can see the Sunday headlines now: Ultra being negative again shock! Posts like the one above simply confirm you as a negative and blinkered fool. The last two months you say: Fryatt was excellent against Milwall, outstanding against Cheltenham, passionate against Stockport, battled against the Dons, superb taking on the Gasheads, lively against Hartlepool and put in a masterclass against Walsall. Really, have a word with yourself.
Webbo Posted 29 March 2009 Posted 29 March 2009 This all reminds me of when Lineker played for us. There were plenty of people back then who didn't like him either. 1 phrase I heard more than once was something like 'yeah sure he's scored 30 goals for us, but what else does he do?:

J.Lisemore Posted 29 March 2009 Posted 29 March 2009 I think he won about one header yesterday...He really frustrates me. All i can say is, thank god Howard is back next game.
Corky Posted 29 March 2009 Posted 29 March 2009 I think he won about one header yesterday...He really frustrates me. All i can say is, thank god Howard is back next game. Heading is not his strong point, it never has been. That is Howard's job- he flicks it on and Fryatt latches on to it and puts it in the net. It's worked this season and it can continue to work.
CosbehFox Posted 29 March 2009 Posted 29 March 2009 I thought he was one of the only three yesterday who actually the appetite for the game and the battle. Dickov was more bothered about moaning at everyone else and then being a strike partner.

In fact our squad is woefully small and extremely limited. Our squad as named in ysterday's programme: Henderson (no longer under consideration). Edworthy (Not been heard of or used for weeks). Kisnorbo Gilbert Tunchev (out for the season and more) Clemence (long term casualty) Cleverley (returned to Man Utd injured) Oakley Howard DJ (on loan for the season) Dyer Fryatt Logan (on loan, never involved so far this season) Weso (on loan and likely to move) Morrison Adams (just returned from loan) N'Gotty (Playing out time. Only briefly involved) Porter (ignored) Hayles (past it) Worley (on loan) Chambers (rarely in the 16) Gradel Mattock Andy King Hobbs Martin (injured and replaced) Dickov (unconvincing even in a bit part) O'Neill (involved briefly) Powell (all set to be a coach) Craig King (involved once) Berner (unconvincing) Cisak (probably fourth choice) Verma (who are ya?) Brown (injured) The back up's pathetic when you think about it.
