Daggers Posted 30 March 2009 Posted 30 March 2009 Deserved. Our support is, by and large, dumb. Not as dumb as those on Waccoe - but limited in a way where they should wear funny hats to prevent self-inflicted injury.
davieG Posted 30 March 2009 Author Posted 30 March 2009 There can't be many teams where the fans would call it ridiculous and a wind up that the 28 goal striker of their table topping side wins player on the year. Same old leicester eh. It's a case of after the Lord Mayor's Show, we've had so many really great strikers in the last 7 years that he just doesn't live up to our high expectations.
maddog Posted 30 March 2009 Posted 30 March 2009 They've obviously not noticed hes played shit for 19 games and only scored 5 goals. However well he did at the beginning he doesn't deserve this award. All hes achieved is a few goals, and tripled his wages.
Darkzzz_ Posted 30 March 2009 Posted 30 March 2009 Well done Matty. I would like to see us get Cox though. I like the look of him.
Guest ttfn Posted 30 March 2009 Posted 30 March 2009 The reason he won is because he's the best player in the league, Tunchev aside. Sure, Howard has been excellent this season, but Fryatt has done the hardest thing you can in football - and that's put the ball in the back of the net on a regular basis. Also, the award was voted for a good 3-4 weeks ago, and he hasn't scored in that time. Furthermore, Fryatt's a nice bloke, and no doubt that encouraged many people to vote for him over the likes of Beckford, who would be a better player if he didn't go around elbowing people in the face. Also, if we're going to criticise the awards process, Leeds fans, let's ask why Fabien Delph won the award for best young player in the WHOLE FOOTBALL LEAGUE. Maybe he'd had a little too much turkey on Xmas day, but he was nowhere to be seen in Leeds' cup final on Boxing Day. I'd go so far to say that Andy King has been better than him. And I don't even like Andy King. Mark Beevers, Richard Stearman, the list goes on...
Guest ttfn Posted 30 March 2009 Posted 30 March 2009 Well done Matty.I would like to see us get Cox though. I like the look of him. Cox has had a good season, but I don't understand why people prefer him over Fryatt - we've seen him play twice, and he was shit hot once but not the best the other time. We've got Fryatt, he's won this fantastic award, let's give him some credit. Also, maddog, it doesn't matter if Fryatt has been average for the last couple of weeks, the award measures your achievement over the whole season (until about March) and as such it is deserved, because his outstanding form in the first half of the season makes up for his lacklustre form of late.

I went to Elland Road and thought he played King off the park, even though it was a game we should have won. He will definitely be in a higher division next season, even if Leeds aren't!

'Scuse me - I'm still waiting for you to come back about Fryatt not having played decently for two months...should I havg around any longer or have I got time to put the kettle on? Oh, and Singh is still owed an apology.

Indeed, but remember it's the THIRD division - and whose p!sspoor performances over the previous seasons helped drag us down to that level.

waccoe1975 Posted 30 March 2009 Posted 30 March 2009 Fryatt goals have helped us to the TOP, Beckford has fired you to a playoff spots Sorry but was I not talking about Delph? Fired who where is not relevant is it? Beckford has scored more goals in far less appearances which proves he is better.

Beckford has scored about 19 goals in the paint tin cup or the league cup. We have got better players then you and if you want facts sir. Look up.
Ultra Posted 30 March 2009 Posted 30 March 2009 Get round to this Ultra. It's tiresome AND cowardly.(thought you'd like me using Caps rather than bold) Wow, another keyboard warrior - except this one is hiding behind his title. How incredibly brave.

Jermaine Beckford English Premiership & Football League Starts(28) Goals(24) Minutes played 2488 English League Cup Starts(2) Goals(4) English FA Cup Starts(1) Goals(3) Johnstones Paint Trophy Starts(0) Goals(0) English Premiership & Football League Starts(40) Goals(23) Minutes played 3461 English League Cup Starts(1) Goals(0) Johnstones Paint Trophy Starts(1) Goals(1) English FA Cup Starts(2) Goals(4) So Beckford has scored a league goal more than him in nearly a thousand! less minutes. How good is that

No, you're right, I'm sorry. I should have placed a phone-call or something or arranged to meet you face to face to explain how disappointed I was at a lack of reply. Stop being so fucking ridiculous. Man up.

Flynny Posted 30 March 2009 Posted 30 March 2009 Right Ultra, I've amended my personal details on this site accordingly - would it be possible to meet up and arrange to strike your face with a glove in accordance with traditional duelling rites?

Arrange to meet him. He's probably got as much backbone as a ****ing jellyfish
Koke Posted 30 March 2009 Posted 30 March 2009 So does that mean when Beckford are injured you are quite frankly shite? At least we have 3 other players who have scored 10+ goals. Good luck at Wembley, see ya in the Championship, if you get there. I'll see you when you get there If you ever get there, see you when you get there I'll see you when you get there if you ever get there See you when you get there
