Children attacking children

Today's kids are more desensitised to violence than previous generations. Whether that automatically makes them more violent, I don't know.

The fact an incident like this shocks us so much means it's a one-off. It's horrific, but it is a one-off. Thankfully, it is an attempted murder charge and not another James Bulger case.

Society as a whole is more desensitized, and unnecessary violence and violent behaviour is seemingly more acceptable!! We have become more extreme in what we want to sense and experience and alot of media, tv, games, sports are easily accessible!!! But what it comes down to is upbringing and understanding given by our peers, that give the sense of what's acceptable and what's not, what's sensationalistic and what's real!!

I remember living in Leicester during the 1970s.

Gang violence, much of it racially-based, was rampant and there were frequent pitched battles between schools (and sometimes even within them).

We've moved on a long way since then, but enough incidents still occur in the city to stop us from becoming too complacent.

I agree, I dont think people remember how bad things were in the early 80's. The fact people mention they read it in the papers more today proves my point that fear is higher now than it was, crime is reported different these days and especially knife crime its the hot topic so you'll see it more in the papers sure gun crime does seem to be higher but murder rates are lower now that 15 years ago.

If you dont believe official crime rates (from the police) but prefer to guess because you read about it more in the paper I guess theres no hope in persuading you different.

Maybe if we stopped paying people to breed, stopped paying for their fags and booze and stopped sorting out their housing they might be more inclined to spend more time hunting for a job and less time watching Jeremy Kyle and ignoring their offspring? :dunno:

And there's more to come:

Mothers to be can now claim a tax free cash bonus of £190. The one off payment is aprt of a Government initiative to help pregnant mothers stay fit and healthy in the run up to the birth.

Yvette Cooper, Chief secretary to the treasury, said " Every mum knows that the run up to birth can be an expensive and stressful time. The grant will help mums to be support their good health during pregnancy."

Here's the clincher:

" It's mums' choice what they do with the cash as everyone's circumstances are different."

It doesn't cost anything to go out for walks. Health and fitness doesn't need any money throwing at it.

Arent we suppose to be in some kind of recession? Curious where all this money is coming from?

And i'm pretty sure (i could be wrong though) that mothers in the pass usually managed to stay healthy without getting money throw at them. Like lisa said we dont get charged to go for walks

This wouldnt of happened had they been clogging up internet forums I bet.

Too right. People are either moaning that their kids are watching too much porn on the internet, or moaning that they're out and about attempting to slaughter other children.

You can't have it both ways
