leftsideoverhere Posted 13 April 2009 Author Posted 13 April 2009 Right im just setting off, i wish i knew what some of you dicks on here looked like.... you would get a face full off greenies!! There's no need to throw money at us. You can pay by paypal for the privilege of coming to the Walkers.
Finnegan Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 I don't really like the Walkers but blaming the stadium itself is just making excuses for the fact we have shit home support. Stoke's ground is just ours but missing a few corners and they manage, Sunderland also have one of these pretty generic bowls (albeit a fair bit bigger) and they manage to create a good atmosphere and a lot of noise. I'm not an expert on grounds or atmosphere but I wouldn't be surprised if there are other new stadiums with fans that manage to make a bit of noise. The fact of the matter is you can put fans anywhere and if they want to sing they'll sing. Leeds fans didn't turn up today and go "oh, this stadium's uninspiring - we can't sing now." There are lots of contributing factors to our atmosphere that the club are responsible for - but the architecture isn't one of them. Our fans just don't sing anymore.

To be honest the leeds fans practically sang non stop from the 10th-60th Something like "we all love leeds"
BlabyFox Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 There was a fantastic atmosphere today, at least in the first half.
BlueSi13 Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 Filbert Street was a dire stadium and an embarrassment, i also distinctly remember some pretty awful atmospheres there too! The Walkers in my opinion is a cracking ground with potential for it to be double the size, if the away fans seem to make a great atmosphere it tells you something doesn't it....we haven't got many songs and its a fan issue, sod all to do with the ground! Leeds' repertoire of songs against ours proved we need a concerted effort to create some original material and thats it! no more, no less! i love the Walkers!

Munzie Posted 13 April 2009 Posted 13 April 2009 Then don't fcuking go then.. I presume (probably rightly) that you're one of those nostalgists who wish we'd never left Filbo. Well, get real. Filbo was a slum. It was holding us back and we should have moved out of it five years earlier. There are many things to dislike about the Way, not least the corporate branding. But on rare occasions, when it's full and we're playing well (such as the first half-hour of the Wednesday game last season), it rocks - quite literally. I hope today will be a time when the team do it justice. This

Of course I'd liked to have stayed at Filbo, it was shit but it had some ****ing character about it and all fans - even those arrogant c*nts in the big 4 - loved it. I can understand why the club needed to move, but that doesn't mean it's a better ground. It's a hole, a piss-poor one at that. If you wana get your tampons in a twist and bleed all over your knickers because I'm not having an open jizz-fest over our ikea ground, then go for it. Up to you la, I don't give two shits. Awayers over homes any day of the season.
carterfox90 Posted 14 April 2009 Posted 14 April 2009 well they certainly did it justice today i can still hear the roar as stevie scored the winner
purpleronnie Posted 14 April 2009 Posted 14 April 2009 well they certainly did it justice today i can still hear the roar as stevie scored the winner Of course I can only go on what it sounded like online but you barely heard the leicester fans all game, however leeds fans you could hear throughout the match.

Why don't you go and support Leeds then if they were so superior? there support was good but vastly overrated, second half i heard very little from them, and we outsung them at Elland Road so i don't get the debate!, how about getting behind the club and it's fans? after all its been a truly excellent weekend!

purpleronnie Posted 14 April 2009 Posted 14 April 2009 Peoples complete bias baffles me, what about the truth?
BlueSi13 Posted 14 April 2009 Posted 14 April 2009 This is a forum, where people can offer their opinions freely, im offering mine on what i heard with my own ears! yes maybe i am a little biased, but im proud of my club, no more no less, ill never b*tch and moan about a problem, i'd try and offer a potential solution instead
Ultra Posted 14 April 2009 Posted 14 April 2009 Listen there Mr Keyboard, I don't go to the Way, Well that statement pretty much renders irrelevant everything else you've said on this thread. I'm sure the team would have been hugely inspired yesterday, as you cheered them on from the safety and comfort of your armchair. Meanwhile some of us were busy encouraging our team, engaging in occasional verbal exchanges with our visitors from West Yorkshire. We didn't always win those, but we ended up winning the match and that's what counts. All sides of the ground were buzzing for a full ten minutes after the game. Not that you'd know about that, of course, because Sky would probably have cut to adverts by then.

Milky Posted 14 April 2009 Posted 14 April 2009 L1 seemed quiet. I thought the whole point of standing in that area was to make lots of noise? Or is it just a status symbol now? Time to nut up or shut up.

I don't come to the 'Way because I've been, repeatedly, and not enjoyed my "Matchday Experience, in conjunction with Women and Children everywhere, sponsored by the Fratellis". How many games have 5-6,000 of the people who went yesterday been to this season? At least I'm not fickle like them, eh? Or a boring deluded **** like you. Diddums so I didn't come to Leeds at home. Didn't watch it from my armchair either - watched it in a pub. Just because you were at the game - in a ground run by people with your c*ntish mentality and completely lost grip on reality - does not make you at all superior to me. I do my part at the away games I get to - not just the big glamour ties before you start there, Mr Keyoard. Because at least even in the shit away grounds I go to, I enjoy my experiences. Infact, the worst experiences I've had away from home have been at grounds which are very similar to the 'Way which you love so dearly - Southampton being the most obvious. Which is why I'll never go there again, either. Home games are a nonsense to me. Much like you, old man. Just because I don't share your orgasmic thoughts about what we call our home ground doesn't mean I'm any less a fan of this club than you are. I'll be at both Southend this Saturday and Crewe in two weeks. If you wish to chastise me any more, or actually have a decent point to make which you won't then go on to contradict, I'd love to hear it at one of these. I love how you criticise him and tell him not to come and then follow it up by having a go at him for not coming. Fantastic Rational and completely logical arguing skills from Mr Keyboard Ultra again.

Fosse Boy Posted 14 April 2009 Posted 14 April 2009 The way I see it, if you're not part of the solution, you're part of the problem. So on the odd occasion that I'm able to make a home game I'll find my way in to L1, stand up, and sing. Boycotting home games will do nothing when all's said and done. I hate the way Filbert Way looks and feels on a matchday as much as any nostalgia ridden fantasist, but if people aren't even willing to make the effort to turn it into a half decent ground, then it never will be. The simple fact is that if you're the kind of fan (like myself) who wants to go to stand, sing and create an atmosphere, the club aren't exactly clamouring for your business. So for every one of that type of fan that decides to boycott home games, the club will just redouble their efforts to find a prawn sandwich eater/Chelsea Dagger lover/kiddie wearing 'Big Four' merchandise to take your place. That's the truth. Filbert Way is what you make of it, if you don't even bother to try and change the place, it'll never happen.
