Guest Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 Link A hint that he really wants to stay? Sounds like he's committed and talks of if not next season then maybe in a couple of years in the Prem
Ajax Treesdown Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 League One champions Leicester City will spend £400,000 on Liverpool's Jack Hobbs and £200,000 to land Hull City's Wayne Brown. The defenders are both currently on loan with the Foxes. (Daily Star) Hopefully this will be correct
ACF Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 Sounds like he wants to stay. And it also says that Oakley will lift the trophy on Friday night.
Darkzzz_ Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 How much has he come on this season, it seems like he has been here forever. I hope we sign him as he seems very keen and that is what we want, players who wear the shirt with pride.
Hitesh Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 Sounds like he wants to stay. And it also says that Oakley will lift the trophy on Friday night. Good!
Granno Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 To be able to sign Jack Hobbs on a permanent would be just reward for his fine performances this season. Still growing with confidence, I'm sure he will be an extremely good asset in the Championship.
davieG Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 I seem to remember Brown saying he'd already cut any ties with Hull so I don't see why we'd need to pay £200k for him

I seem to remember Brown saying he'd already cut any ties with Hull so I don't see why we'd need to pay £200k for him Correct. Manager Nigel Pearson has indicated that he wants to secure a permanent move for Hobbs from Liverpool, where he still has a year of his contract to run.Hobbs said: “I think it will be sorted out soon, but we'll have to wait and see. That's all I can really say at this stage :w00t: Looks good to me!
Joe. Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 This is good enough for me. I don't think he'd come out and say something like this if it wasn't pretty much nailed on. Great news.
Edmund Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 I can confidently say he will be here next season judging by that interview.
Scow Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 “We should be aiming for the Premier League, but whether it will be next year or in a couple of years, I'm not sure. Key quote for me.
Legend_in_blue Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 The bloke has been absolutely superb. He has the potential to become one of the best CBs we've ever had. Having the likes of Tunchev to work with as well is the icing on the cake. Our CBs for next season will be up there, on paper, with the best the championship has to offer. I have no doubts of that.
C-man Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 Only one thing to say about Jack. He eats Matty Fryatt's cobs.
Alexikokopops Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 Only one thing to say about Jack. He eats Matty Fryatt's cobs. The original was "cheese and onion" <_<
Corky Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 I like the ambition. It's going to be very hard, but I'd rather hear this than him saying we'd be happy with survival only.
Joe. Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 I like the ambition. It's going to be very hard, but I'd rather hear this than him saying we'd be happy with survival only. I don't think he was ever going to say that was he?
Corky Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 I don't think he was ever going to say that was he? No I suppose not, I meant consolidation really
Kilworthfox Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 The original was "cheese and onion" <_< You are sooooooooooooo wrong!
iancognito Posted 22 April 2009 Posted 22 April 2009 Hobbs has been brilliant for us this season and it's great news he's stopping here (I got an email from a mate in Liverpool earlier asking if they had a chance of getting him back if Agger stalls on his contract - "no chance") but I'm surprised he got the young player award over King who apart from that international call up has been ever present and got into double figures in goals too. I know he's almost been the lynchpin since we lost the Tunch but Kingy has been consistent from day one.
carterfox90 Posted 23 April 2009 Posted 23 April 2009 i thought king would get it also played well this season good news if hobbs does stay with us
