Finnegan Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 If this dont get the ethnic minority people in to see City then nothing will. We'll need a MASSIVER Stadium soon.... Oh Raj. I'd love it if this lad outshines anyone we pay any millions for. It's got local hero written all over it.
lookwhaticando Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 Oh Raj. I'd love it if this lad outshines anyone we pay any millions for. It's got local hero written all over it. An FA cup cameo against a MASSIVE Premiership club (Brum) resulting in a goal would suffice.
Raj Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 Oh Raj. I'd love it if this lad outshines anyone we pay any millions for. It's got local hero written all over it. He will be known as the Brown Linekar!!! Really hope he does well....i mean he is my cousin you know!!!
Miquel The Work Geordie Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 "City teenager Aman Verma has signed a year's extension after the end of his six-month deal. The 21-year-old midfielder, who lives in Humberstone, played in a handful of reserve team games last season. He joined City after impressing with Blue Square North Redditch United." From thebluearmy.com Oh dear, whoever wrote that. RETARD.
potter3 Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 don't doubt him until you've seen him..i can honestly say that he is 10 times the player that jorrin john is.. and i've played with both of them on a number of occasions... (goals , 11 a side freindlys, tournaments etc.. ) he deserves a chance... and i think he'll prove his worth Isn't Jorrin John about 15?
Thracian Posted 21 May 2009 Posted 21 May 2009 I can't wait for Thracian's rant about positive discrimination gone mad. I'll judge whether it's a political signing or a footballing one when I see the guy play. As yet I've never seen him kick a ball but I wish him success as I wish it for everyone else. What you say seems a bit ironic given how I've campaigned for or sung the praises of Gradel, Psssh and Odhiambo at various times and how much I've appreciated the football of Dyer and Gilbert, among others. That I believed players like Kaebi, Djiziri, and Cort didn't deserve to wear the City shirt had nothing to do with their ethnicity. It was entirely due to their performances and I've never had reason to regret my views. It will be interesting though to see if the ethnically motivated campaigning that went on for Kaebi restarts with Verma. I shall continue to make my judgements based solely on football. I still believe people should get into our team on merit rather than their religion or skin colour as part of some excercise in social engineeering that is fundamentally designed to give us bums on seats rather than points in the quest for a title. If Verma does get in on merit, or perhaps I should say if he stays in on merit, then I shall be happy to sing his praises and any crowd "benefits" will be a legitimate bonus.
DeclanMC Posted 23 May 2009 Posted 23 May 2009 This guy was at my college leavers ball for some reason on Thursday night. I would have talked to him about the contract etc but I have only just been told of this by my friend. Aman's friend, who is a teacher at our college dropped him and my friend off but she was too drunk to remember where he lived. Story Over.
Guest MarshallForEngland Posted 24 May 2009 Posted 24 May 2009 People, please, you should all be ashamed of yourselves, demanding evidence of a player's ability before you form an opinion on him. What happened to the days of writing a player off before he's put his shirt on? Verma out!

Thracian Posted 25 May 2009 Posted 25 May 2009 People, please, you should all be ashamed of yourselves, demanding evidence of a player's ability before you form an opinion on him. What happened to the days of writing a player off before he's put his shirt on? Verma out! If you watched reserves games you'd write players off before they've played for the first team too. We've made some joke signings at City over recent seasons and far better to admit it than wait til they actually get a first team shirt and we drop points as a result. Not that some people would have it, such was their socio-political zeal. Thankfully Pearson has, as yet, showed few signs of playing duffers as yet so perhaps Verma will be the gem that the ethnically concerned armchair selectors might wish. Me, I couldn't give a toss what his background is so long as he can play. If he can he'll get my support and if he can't, he won't. His ethnicity shouldn't be a factor in any way. What I want to see is 11 talented footballers in the City team not a pre-conceived commercial selection of ethnically diverse footballers assembled simply so we can sell the game to a wider audience and make more money. In other words teams selected on merit rather than to satisfy television audiences or government social engineering directives. I'm only surprised we haven't, as yet, signed a woman for our squad. Must be a Harriet Harperson oversight. Lise might be fit enough!
dypatel06 Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 Should Bee given a start next season. He's got the ability to play and will provee himself.
Dr The Singh Posted 27 May 2009 Posted 27 May 2009 Should Bee given a start next season. He's got the ability to play and will provee himself. I wouldn't be so hopeful, he didn't even get off the subs bench in L1, I doubt he will feature from the start!!!! There's no evidence to suggest he's first team material or not, we just have to wait and see. Given the fact he's only been given a 1 year deal, suggest Pearson possibly see's some potential but not enought to warrant a long term deal!!
