The players started back training today and got paid apparently, It was on SSN.

Correct.

Le Tissier is going to be the new chairman, after his consortium take over.

Save making a new thread, when do our boys start training again?

July 1st I think. I think it says in the Pre-Season Friendlies thread in the Leicester City Forum.

Know a few of their fans, trust me, they are

No surprise. They were in the lower leagues for long enough.

how long exactly will they let this go on? They've no money, the club is bankrupt and no-one seemingly wants to buy them. Surely (as they've gone bankrupt) they should have been relegated into league 2 by now, or wound up?

If Southampton do find themselves in the BSP, what would happen with League One?

Would it just continue with 23 teams or would they bring in a team to the division? (Possibly Northampton as the fourth from bottom team last season)

It would make a bit of a mess of things if Southampton ended up in the Conference, and would be an absolute scandal when you consider the amount of debts that Man United et al are allowed to continue to operate with.

If no-one buys them before Friday don't they get relegated to the Blue Square Premier?

I'm not particuarly fond of Soton but that would be bloody harsh to drop that low!

Regarding financial situations I don't think Man U and Southampton have the same problem. Southampton Leisure who went into Administration own Southampton, that means no money coming into the company because they are paying off debts and in the meantime they are running a football club. Whereas as Man United live the "luxury" of Bank Loans, Millions and millions borrowed, but being one of the most biggest clubs in the world, financially their football shirts and merchandise are sold all over the country, just think how much Man United receieve of that one example. Alot more than Southampton, I like the club and it's not nice seeing them in the bother they are but maybe dropping to the BSP with Le Tissier and the consortium might do them a bit of good. Because to be honest, they are already fighting a battle on -10 in League One.

Having sold McGoldrick and Surman this week, they should have money to pay staff for a little while longer.

Maybe this will give enough time for a new buyer to step in.

from what i heard they will fold if the're don't find a buyer by midnight tomorrow. Really harsh on the fans, they don't deserve this.

If Southampton do fold at midnight then, what would the repercussions be for the league?

Presumably all fixtures v Southampton would be cancelled and they'd only play 44 fixtures each, with an extra team promoted from League Two next year, or something?

How's it looking for them so far? Can't find any "new" information :ermm:

I offered a £10 and I am waiting to hear back

Yes, every club would play 44 matches this season.

Not sure about what would happen with regards to promotion/relegation at the end of the season though.

i would think they would bring northampton back up from L2, Chester from BSP, whichever team finished in the last relegation spot in the BSP so o so forth until the reach the lowest league in which a southampton side formed by the fans would join.

They need a takeover.

Don't they only have 40 odd minutes now to save themselves?

No rush apparently as a Swedish consortium are close to a takeover and with the sale of Surman and Mcgoldrick they have a bit more time.

Not that I want to see them go under or anything but fook me is there any point in deadlines or are they just idle threats that come to nothing? There was a deadline a few weeks ago wasn't there? Nothing happened, This deadline has been moved and they've been given more time (According to you).

I remember when Covscum were in trouble they had a deadline that was moved to give them more time.

As I said I don't want to see any club (Even Covscum...) go bust but these deadlines just seem abit pointless and just idle threats tbh.

I just read it in a article. Its more due to the fact they have just raised 2.5 million from the sale of two players which makes sense as that will cover for a short period.

In regards to Coventry I vaguely remember what happened in that scenario.
