Matt Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 Saints’ staff have been informed they will not be paid their monthly wages today – but have been asked to stay on and work for another week while Mark Fry tries to generate the cash to pay them.Administrator Fry called an emergency meeting at St Mary’s today to explain to staff why they hadn’t been paid their May wages. He asked for their continued goodwill to stay on at the club for a further week while he tries to bring the current situation to an endgame and he has called a further meeting for next Friday by which time he hopes to be able to confirm they will be paid. The Daily Echo understands he told them that he was still hopeful of concluding a deal to sell the club with four parties still interested. He will also investigate other possible ways to raise funds. Not looking good at Southampton.
Jay Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 more importantly do they have anyone left that's any good might get a good bargain by kicking them in the balls while they are on the floor

Matt Posted 28 May 2009 Author Posted 28 May 2009 Few players there I'd be taking a look at. And the advantage we have over other teams is Pearson, He's worked with most/all of those players, he'll know who's good, who's got attitude problems, disruptive and give a miss, e.t.c, and the players might even like him thus join us. Then again he might not want any of them.
Guppy Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 Goalkeepers Kelvin Davis Midfielders Andrew Surman Morgan Schneiderlin Simon Gillett Jake Thomson Attackers David McGoldrick Adam Lallana The only ones that would be decent signings imo, obviously would only sign one or two maximum, so McGoldrick and Thomson (for the future) would be my choices. Lallana will go Prem else he's more than welcome here.
AyewJoking Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 only Surman stands out for me and he's spoken for isnt he? they were relegated for a reason!
Granno Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 only Surman stands out for me and he's spoken for isnt he?they were relegated for a reason! Poor management?
Edmund Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 Would be a shame if Southampton become extinct. These arab billionaires should invest in these clubs. This would be back pocket change for them.
Edmund Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 yeah cos they'd have won the league otherwise yeah fairpoint, but you have to feel for the fans.
Granno Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 yeah cos they'd have won the league otherwise Easy to say now you've seen the outcome of the season.
Alexikokopops Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 yeah fairpoint, but you have to feel for the fans. I think he was replying to Granno's post above yours.
Edmund Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 I think he was replying to Granno's post above yours. Oh right just seen my bad. Still makes sense so will pretend Granno replied to me
Guest Bilo Posted 28 May 2009 Posted 28 May 2009 Goalkeepers Kelvin Davis - Worth a try for how little money Saints are likely to ask. Tommy Forecast Michael Poke Bartosz Bialkowski Defenders Chris Perry Wayne Thomas Michael Svensson Lloyd James Olly Lancashire Joseph Mills Lee Molyneux Midfielders Paul Wotton Andrew Surman - Top of the shopping list, but we may encounter competition for him. Lee Holmes Jason Euell Morgan Schneiderlin Simon Gillett Jake Thomson Oscar Gobern Anthony Pulis Callum McNish Attackers Marek Saganowski - A decent player who will score goals given service. Once again, worth a punt at a low price. Bradley Wright-Phillips David McGoldrick Adam Lallana Jamie White Matthew Paterson Kayne McLaggon
Basingstoke Fox Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Pompey must be loving this. Know a few of their fans, trust me, they are
Flynny Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Everyone's forgetting Rasiak! He'd be a fantastic signing. He's not listed on that cos he was on loan at Watford.
Granno Posted 29 May 2009 Posted 29 May 2009 Everyone's forgetting Rasiak! He'd be a fantastic signing. He's not listed on that cos he was on loan at Watford. Aye, proven goalscorer.
