step Posted 5 May 2005 Posted 5 May 2005 I think Kisnorbo is a bit of a robbie savage, runs around alot stops the other team doing anything, get the ball back and passes to someone with some skills. Nowt wrong with that. It worked for us before.
SilverFox Posted 5 May 2005 Posted 5 May 2005 Don't think we are going in the right direction!?!?!?!?!?! Hughes, McCarthy, and Maybury have all proven to be class so far. Nalis is slow and has performed in only a handful of games. Gillespie seldom has the confidence to beat his man, and still can't put a good cross in! Granted he has improved and I think we should have kept him as a squad player, but I was hoping we would replace both the right and left wing players this closed season! Gillespie wasn't/isn't the answer! The player we had from Pompey was miles better! Thats the calibre I want!
SilverFox Posted 5 May 2005 Posted 5 May 2005 Because Gillespie and Nalis are quality players and I can't see Levein (who is effectively a nobody in the english game) being able to attract players anyway near the same callibre. 103595 Do you know any of the facts regarding their assumed departure, maybe they have chosen to leave, maybe they wanted too much money after all CL is having to cut £5mill off the budget, maybe they were caught having sex in Mace's office, who knows? We don't!. Sp for someone who knows FA about the situation your very quick to call someone a "fu**ing TWAT". I think that say's more about you than CL. But of course you're SOMEBODY, pray do enlighten us on your oh so wonderful credentials 103624 I have no credentials. I am just a fan and am very pissed off because i don't think we are going in the right direction. 103629 Then give supporting the manager go!
SilverFox Posted 5 May 2005 Posted 5 May 2005 What was the name of that player from Pompey? I can't remember, scottish international I think...Thanks 'arry Bassett! *Frown*
Hazza Posted 5 May 2005 Posted 5 May 2005 What was the name of that player from Pompey? I can't remember, scottish international I think...Thanks 'arry Bassett! *Frown* 103665 Kevin Harper Stoke snapped him up on a free unfortunately.
City Fan Posted 5 May 2005 Posted 5 May 2005 Gemmill - Dont even know why we signed him....GET RID Gillespie - Getting on, cant take it round defenders and put crosses in, GET RID Nalis - Just a shite version of Ginola, french, slow, long hair, nuff said...GET RID
kenny Posted 5 May 2005 Posted 5 May 2005 Anyone else think this might be a signal of Levein's intention to change formation next season?! 103648 Good shout that, gillespies form has really been the only thing stopping us going to a 5-3-2 imo. Maybury and stewart at wingback, with hughes williams and a ball-winner in the centre.

Especially after reading what Levein said at the awards ceremony about him looking at Kisnorbo, Hughes and Williams working well as a midfield trio. The ball winner being Paddy and that leaves Williams and Hughes to attack. Maybury's so good at getting forward that I think it would work well.

However CL is a 4-4-2 man through and through.

Injury prone, but created more than Gillespie in two games!

Jonbluefox9 Posted 5 May 2005 Posted 5 May 2005 Does anyone think a back three of Kenton, if we manage to keep him on a permanent basis, McCarthy and Stearman would be strong enough next season? Judging by McCarthy and Kenton's recent performances, I think they'd be able to help Rich through.
Knighton Matt Posted 5 May 2005 Posted 5 May 2005 interesting thoughts people because in that sunday mail article craig said he was excited about the prospect of hughes, williams and kisnorbo in midfield and he also said he wanted to sign a couple of centre backs and strikers but no mention of attacking wide players even though this is something we're desperately short of. maybe 3-5-2 is on the cards?

However, the attitude of FNQ is no different to that of many people on here with regard to Mickey or Paul Mace or the board in general. Nobody's views about the club are based on all of the facts and therefore I am disappointed in your tone davie. Again, the dissenting voice is looked upon distastefully.
Tomassi Posted 5 May 2005 Posted 5 May 2005 Nalis and Gillispie going to Coventry.. ALSO Jason Wilcox is being released.. how do i know? he told me himself..
Jonbluefox9 Posted 5 May 2005 Posted 5 May 2005 Nalis and Gillispie going to Coventry..ALSO Jason Wilcox is being released.. how do i know? he told me himself.. 103695 I thought he might be given a short term contract just to see if he still has something to offer but Levein obviously wants to get his money freed up asap to make the signings he wants. He has had the chance to impress in the reserves and hasn't and Levein will have seen him train a lot since he recovered. Good luck to him because he's a sound bloke but we've got to start the re-build as early as possible to give us the upperhand on our opposition.
Scow Posted 5 May 2005 Posted 5 May 2005 Nalis and Gillispie going to Coventry..ALSO Jason Wilcox is being released.. how do i know? he told me himself.. 103695 Gillespie hates Adams, so I doubt it. I can see Nalis ending up at Coventry though - Adams wanted him earlier this season... When I first heard the news about the 3 departures, I was slightly surprised about Gillespie. However, on reflection, you can see the reasons why he's been released, as highlighted by some posters on this thread. Good luck to all 3.
Little Nicky Posted 5 May 2005 Posted 5 May 2005 Goodbye boys! Been a good servant Lilian, and keith has only been playing for a contract so I'm glad he hasn't been given another chance! Good luck CL!
