StanSP Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 City havn't 1 out and out striker I'd not rate as gash.If they signed someone like Aguero I could see them breaking the top 4 for sure. Think one of the top four will get Aguero this summer, if not next. A.C. Milan will probably look at him too. Two players I've always been a fan of are Schweinsteiger and Phillip Lahm. Surprised they haven't been talked about. Still early days though. Love to see them in England.
Maybes Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 I doubt Richard Dunne will be a starter for City next year, Kompany and Onuha are both far better options but I wouldn't be surpised to see them go in for another centre back. You can also be pretty certain that they are going to bring in another striker, Sturridge is out of contract.Although they were a long way off points wise this season you get the sense that they are not far away. There home record was as good as those in the top 4 and it was certainly a transitionary season with so many players coming in and out. I think this year they will just gor for two or three players of real quality, they already have the nucleaus of a good squad, just got to find a bit of consitency. Nedum Onouha is not better than Richard Dunne.
Guest Bilo Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 Barry is monumentally overrated. Barry is hurt by your comments.
lcfc_jme Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 Barry is hurt by your comments. He can **** himself in the eye with his own man-meat. He's useless as well.
Fox92 Posted 3 June 2009 Posted 3 June 2009 Whats he doing going there? The money! He was an icon at Villa, playing over 400 games, the captain and being there since he left Brighton ages ago. Gone for the money, but who would turn down whatever ridiculas wage he is getting paid. He is set for life.
TrickyTrev Posted 4 June 2009 Posted 4 June 2009 Nedum Onouha is not better than Richard Dunne. I think Onouha could become a class act, all the attributes. Dunne is way out of his depth at the moment, he's a likable guy and been a good performer for them but he just isn't up to playing in a European Challenging side. It's a shame but that is the sort of decision that Hughes will have to take. As I said, may well bring in another centre back. Chris Samba anyone?
lildave3 Posted 4 June 2009 Posted 4 June 2009 Huddlestone being lined up as a replacement at Villa. Oh good lord that's a bag of shit.
StanSP Posted 4 June 2009 Posted 4 June 2009 Oh good lord that's a bag of shit. His only strength is his physical presence I think. Didn't get that much game time at Spurs. Don't really think he's a good replacement.
AyewJoking Posted 4 June 2009 Posted 4 June 2009 I cant blame him for following the money. I'd go almost anywhere for 100k + per week. If Man City are to become a major force in Europe then they have to start somewhere so of course anyone they sign in the immediate future will be seen as money hungry. I doubt Barry or Robinho give a crap whether the club become "massive" or not cos by then they will be retired and sitting on their gigantic fortunes.
Fox92 Posted 6 June 2009 Posted 6 June 2009 It said £110,000 a week in the Sun today. Ok I am a big fan of Gareth Barry and always have been but £110,000 a week I don't think that I have ever seen him use his right foot. ___ As for Tom Huddlestone I am a fan of him. His passing is immense as well as his shear strength. Not sure if he is replacement for Barry though

Not sure if he is replacement for Barry though Yeah Barry sometimes had the spark to change a game in they dying minutes of a match or be an influential figure in Villa's attacks. Whereas for Huddlestone, I can't see anyhting special. Seems more of a defensive midfielder.
