If I remember correctly, Bartholdi's design had something to do with Egypt, and I'm not sure if the statue was originally meant to be for the Egyptians. As it happens, i do, except for the last one. The incident i found most disturbing was about 11 years ago when an Irishman who owned the newsagent next to the stage was verbally abused by 3 asian men at the counter because he dared take advantage of the celebration by putting up the price of alcohol. The shop owner had a child with an asian lady, who was hovering just round the back with the boy about 7 years of age, you could tell the man was proud because his first reaction was to stand in his partner and son's view. As i was about to buy something myself, i was at the counter, i nodded to him at a height of tension to say i will defend you and your family, he responded by stepping forward towards them and at that moment the 3 asian lads realised they were in for a uphill struggle if they started. They continued their racial hatred with verbal insults to both him, his partner and England as they walked out. In particular they raised their voices saying "we own Leicester now". The man shuck my hand and offered what i was buying for free, i insisted on paying but he gave me a 50% discount which i accepted. He wasn't there the following year, which you could describe as white flight. He was probably the last white person to own a shop along that road.

As i read that back, my eyes fill with water, because i know what its like to be a victim of anti-white racism, to be ethnicly cleansed, or cleared as they say these days.

The incident you witnessed may not have been pleasant, but to liken it to ethnic cleansing shows a complete lack of perspective.

There are plenty of folk in the city who can speak about that subject with far more authority. None are likely to be English, though.

The percentage of English people in Leicester has been reduced to about 50%, no matter how it come about, cleansing or clearing of the English has been rife over the last 60 years. Thus theres more English people understand the problem than any other ethnicity.

Basically, more people are beginning to vote BNP because they have had enough of foreigners taking over areas, which 20 years ago would never happen. Our own troops were made to get changed at Heathrow Airport because muslims may have found them offensive (supposedly). I agree this guy to an extent, their are way to many problems in this country, one especially, is immigration. I've had enough of muslims being offended by this and that, having their own laws in our country etc, ridiculous. People died in the war for this country to protect it from 'others', but they all got in through the back door. Im not saying everyone should vote BNP because they are far too extreme, but English people are forced out of their own areas because of all the Indians etc, (granted not all), as I have witnessed this. If they come to our country, they should respect it, and not come and change our culture, or complain about the way we do things, if they don't like it, they can fook off. Agreed, when we've got our troops out fighting battles for whatever reasons, if it wasn't for our soldiers, the majority of us wouldn't be here today, me included. So we Muslims are baffled when we read and hear that Christmas is being “banned” and replaced with something else because the organizers do not want to offend Muslims. Where do they get this idea from? Who told them that? To suggest that Christmas decorations would offend Muslims is absurd. Why should Christmas not be celebrated openly and wholeheartedly in this country when a vast majority of people identify themselves as Christians? It makes absolute fuck all sense.
