Joe. Posted 5 June 2009 Posted 5 June 2009 Arsenal striker Nicklas Bendtner has warned Zlatan Ibrahimovic he intends to become the pin-up of Scandinavian football within three years - then become the best in the world.Denmark forward Bendtner struggles to hold down a regular place at The Emirates while Swede Ibrahimovic helped Inter to the Serie A title this season - and was also the top scorer in Italy. But this has not deterred Bendtner, who at 21 believes he has nowhere near reached his peak while insisting it's all downhill from here for 27-year Ibrahimovic. The Gunners star said: 'In about three years, I will be better than Zlatan. He is older than me and has now reached his peak as the top scorer in Serie A - but I have a plan, I believe in it and I am ready. 'Next season, I can finally make my breakthrough and then I still have two years to become better than Zlatan – and I will. 'By then I will be close to my peak and will be able to look upon myself as one of the world’s greatest strikers.' Unbelievable.
StanSP Posted 5 June 2009 Posted 5 June 2009 He's shit. Always will be. He misses when it is so much easier to score. Virtually only ever scores headers. I can only remember him scoring once with his feet last season - against Porto in CL.
lildave3 Posted 5 June 2009 Posted 5 June 2009 Well you can't knock his confidence. Or his ambition. But you can knock his ability.
Father Ted Posted 5 June 2009 Posted 5 June 2009 He's an absolutely terrible player but Ibrahimovic is so overrated and I can actually see this happening
James. Posted 5 June 2009 Posted 5 June 2009 Admittedly I rarely see him play so this observation may indeed be worthless but I don't think I've ever seen Ibrahimovich do anything of note. Ever.
Joe. Posted 5 June 2009 Author Posted 5 June 2009 Ibrahimovic is well overrated in my opinion, but it was more so this particular quote which made me laugh. 'By then I will be close to my peak and will be able to look upon myself as one of the world’s greatest strikers.'
Fez of Mahrez Posted 5 June 2009 Posted 5 June 2009 Me and Alex and one of my Arsenal-supporting mates have a rating system for old Nicklas. He started off as Plan Z, then gradually worked his way up to about Plan T, letter by letter. He plummeted all the way back to Plan Z again and then missed a sitter in some Premiership game so went off the scale completely beneath Z. Think he's built it up to about Plan W again now, not sure. Either way, he's always good for a laugh.
shen Posted 5 June 2009 Posted 5 June 2009 He's a stupid boy. So full of himself. Why he bigs himself up like that only to certainly fail, I really don't know. One can only hope he's not actually being serious about being one of the best strikers in the world. Still, I hope he does well since the national team is so ridiculously dependent on him...
shen Posted 5 June 2009 Posted 5 June 2009 Admittedly I rarely see him play so this observation may indeed be worthless but I don't think I've ever seen Ibrahimovich do anything of note. Ever. And what about his goals at the Euros? Both last year and the one against Italy in 2004?
Darkzzz_ Posted 5 June 2009 Posted 5 June 2009 Zlatan annoys me because the talent is there, he just bottles it most of the time. Some of the things I have seen him do in his time in Serie A have been class, THAT goal for Ajax before his move to Italy was genius. He often talks the talk but never actually walks the walk, on his day, he is good but the majority of games he does go missing.
Durnerz Posted 5 June 2009 Posted 5 June 2009 Bendtner is like a white Clinton Morrison only with less ability.

Yep during his Ajax days he was the don. He was a complete striker.
Pricey Posted 7 June 2009 Posted 7 June 2009 And what about his goals at the Euros? Both last year and the one against Italy in 2004? Yeah he definately has talent, but just not consistent enough. Has alot of bad games as well as excellent ones.
shen Posted 7 June 2009 Posted 7 June 2009 Bendtner is like a white Clinton Morrison only with less ability. He had a shocker against Sweden last night to be honest
Pricey Posted 7 June 2009 Posted 7 June 2009 Nothing wrong with ambition. I agree, just don't think it's necessary to share it to that extent. Makes him come across as arrogant
