Salieri Posted 5 July 2009 Posted 5 July 2009 Quite looking forward to the final, should be a close match. Wouldn't be surprised to see it go with serve all the way, breaks will be very hard to come by for both players. Fancy Roddick to nick 1 set on a tiebreak but Federer to win 3-1 overall, the guy is top class.
Darkzzz_ Posted 5 July 2009 Posted 5 July 2009 I can't see past Federer today but if I did then I would choose A-Rod.... Obviously...
Uncle Albert Posted 5 July 2009 Posted 5 July 2009 He supports Paraguay v England, i'll support whoever he plays.I can honestly say no-one I know actually likes him. Murray said that because the reporter who was interviewing asked Murray if he thought Scotland had a chance at the 2006 World Cup.. And did you not say anything stupid when you were 19? Thought so. Anyways like most I think Fed will win but I dont think it will be straight sets, maybe 4 sets but a close match. Federer will be nervous if A-Rod can hold his serve and take him to a tie-break. Come on Roddick.
Darkzzz_ Posted 5 July 2009 Posted 5 July 2009 Yeah I actually want Roddick to win this just on the basis that Federer has had many titles here, I love Federer though.
Milky Posted 5 July 2009 Posted 5 July 2009 Why do all these none tennis fans keep posting in the tennis thread? Bit sad.
Uncle Albert Posted 5 July 2009 Posted 5 July 2009 I'm not havin a go at tennis fans just sayin that it isn't a massive sport. Sorry if anyones offended by that Tennis isnt a massive sport?! What an idiot you are, there are 4 major tournaments every single year, if you didnt realise that is more than Football, Rugby and the same as Golf. I'm not saying it's a bigger sport than Football but it is a massive sport. How many people watch the four Slams will be unreal and to say it isnt a massive sport proves what tool you are.
Benji Posted 5 July 2009 Posted 5 July 2009 I'm glad Roddick is serving well, let's make this a contest!

Yeah that is well put. I don't watch all four slams from start to finish but I always try and catch the tennis when it is on. To say it is not a well liked sport is very wrong indeed, you only have to look at the interest Wimbledon alone generates, to back this up.
Salieri Posted 5 July 2009 Posted 5 July 2009 Roddick has gotta fancy his chances in any set that goes to a tiebreak, his record is exceptional. The match going pretty much as expected so far....
Benji Posted 5 July 2009 Posted 5 July 2009 Bad news for Roddick, Federer is starting to put his racket through the ball
Salieri Posted 5 July 2009 Posted 5 July 2009 Great start by Roddick, this could be a very good (and very long!) match now.
Benji Posted 5 July 2009 Posted 5 July 2009 hahaha i stuck £5 on federer to win the second set when he was 5-2 down at 7-1 that's paid for golf today then!
Milky Posted 5 July 2009 Posted 5 July 2009 Roddick will kick himself for the rest of his life. Unless he wins it of course. bugger
Salieri Posted 5 July 2009 Posted 5 July 2009 Can't believe Federer won that tie-break Roddick's gotta try to put that out of his mind now....
Salieri Posted 5 July 2009 Posted 5 July 2009 hahaha i stuck £5 on federer to win the second set when he was 5-2 down at 7-1that's paid for golf today then! Nice work I stuck £20 on Fed to win 3-1 (at 5/2) so was sweating a bit in that tie breaker! Despite the money, i'd be happy for Roddick if he wins the match.
dandannieldanok Posted 5 July 2009 Posted 5 July 2009 Doesnt seem to be any love for Fed anywhere. I respect the man greatly but I personally would like to see Roddick win.
Stuliasz Posted 5 July 2009 Posted 5 July 2009 Anyone know what the record for no. of games in a final is?
