Am I right in saying it'll take about an hour to get from King's Cross & St. P' to Termnal 3?

I've consulted TFL but they gave me everything from 35 minutes to 70 odd.

I've never been to Heathrow before, mind. How does it work with the tube? Is the tube to Heathrow just like it is to the major stations? Like, I can get off of the tube and pretty much be straight in the airport?

Picadilly Line drops you off at 2 stations in Heathrow depending on the terminal you want. Short walk from either station to the terminals.

You probably already know but don't bother with Heathrow Express, fucking expensive.

EDIT: and yeah, an hour sounds about right, maybe a touch less.

Aye I'm only using the tube. By short walk do you mean less than ten minutes - and is it well signposted? I've never been that far south before.

West. :P

But yeah, I've probably only done it a couple of times but as far as I remember it's about 10 minutes max to get from the tube to the terminal.

National History Museum is class.

I'm staying in Kensington on Gloucester Road so that's actually my first port of call!

PS. Finners you're a thread terrorist.

Fuck me. Train prices got a bit expensive. Whatever happened to being able to buy a couple of £8 singles?

Mega train?

Much looking forward to going to Seven Dials, it's my kind of place. Oysters don't expire by the way

Obviously you have to go along Oxford Street and Bond Street and all that jazz if you're being a tourist. Also check out and see if Sportspages is still in existence - Tottenham Court Road I think it's on. Used to stock every single football clubs fanzine in there - an amazing shop.

How long does your National Express take? I might consider that to be honest.

It varies... some have stops and some don't. I think mine is about 2hrs 20mins, that extra hour saved us around £100 though.

My friend's plane is supposed to land at 11.30am - I booked my train back to Leicester at 3pm.

Hm. It sounds like a massive gap in theory, let's just hope there's no obvious delays.

If you're doing London Eye on a Saturday I suggest starting off at London Bridge, go to Borough market, walk along the south bank passing the globe theatre, tate modern, millenium bridge & waterloo bridge, ending up at the eye. It's a great walk, have done it many times lovely in the summer.

Agreed, done it a couple of times too. Once after Charlton last season caught a late train so walked the whole way to the eye from the Valley along the south bank.

Think I'll head down on saturday for a shop, need a few things for my holiday and if my sister and one of her mates come that'll be me sorted for fuel expenses.

would reccomend seven dials like fez did, lovely place and not at all tourest infested.

I'm glad some has started this thread, I'm taking the family for a weekend in London soon.

I'm planning to go on THIS hop on hop off bus tour as it's got a river cruise thrown in.

Is it right that the congestion charge doesn't apply on the weekend? The train price is just ridiculous.

When i went to London all i did was walk from place to place and saw all the tourist things, London Eye, Downing St, Leicester Square, Buckingham palace, Big Ben. Really cool walking around at night time too.

Best part tho was a river cruise down the Thames to Grewnich, the guy doing the commentary was very informative and quite entertaining aswell as being genuinely funny (not your usual shit jokes to keep people amused), as a tight tourist i didn't even mind tipping the bloke

Also enjoyed walking in off the street and on to the lords.........poor security even got in to the media centre.
