Asha Posted 12 June 2009 Share Posted 12 June 2009 Quite short compared to previous mixes, at only 12 tracks. I've never done ought like this before and found it quite difficult to choose songs that I liked and that others hadn't heard of, but I'm hoping in this mix there'll be a good number of tracks that are new to you. Complete mix bag as well, no specific genres or anything. DOWNLOAD HERE Hope you like. Track listing: 1. Flyleaf - So I thought (Alt.V) 2. Joshua Radin - Amy's Song 3. The Robot Ate Me - Bad Feelings 4. Tony Laf - I'm Good 5. Water Flame - Glorious Morning 6. Badly Drawn Boy - All possibilities - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - if this song doesn't play, 7. Joe Satriani - Chords of life 8. Hamfatter - The Girl I love 9. Neon Neon - Belfast 10. Darren Styles - Skydivin 11. Maija Vilkkumaa - Ingalsin Laura 12. Good Charlotte - Thank You Mom. Asha Posted 12 June 2009 Author Share Posted 12 June 2009 Just been informed of a slight issue with the Badly Drawn Boy song, and apparently it's not playing. I'll re-upload the thing with a working version of the song, but those who've already downloaded might be best to either youtube or spotify it. Apologies. StanSP Posted 12 June 2009 Share Posted 12 June 2009 1. Flyleaf - So I thought (Alt.V) 10/10 (even before I listened I knew it would be good ) 2. Joshua Radin - Amy's Song 7/10 (bit slow for my mood now...but obviously I could see the song differently in a different mood) 3. The Robot Ate Me - Bad Feelings 6/10 (It's different) 4. Tony Laf - I'm Good 8/10 (Liked it ever since seeing him on BGT) 5. Water Flame - Glorious Morning 7/10 (Again, different. But good different - reminds me of Escala in parts) 6. Badly Drawn Boy - All possibilities 7/10 Nice. 7. Joe Satriani - Chords of life 6/10 8. Hamfatter - The Girl I love 7/10 (Could get addictive) 9. Neon Neon - Belfast 5/10 (Not sure ) 10. Darren Styles - Skydivin (Same as 9) 11. Maija Vilkkumaa - Ingalsin Laura 7/10 - wasn't sure what to expect. Pleasantly surprised 12. Good Charlotte - Thank You Mom. 8/10 - Reminded me of Emotionless i.e. song about parents and relaxed tone. Overall pretty good mate!
Granno Posted 12 June 2009 Share Posted 12 June 2009 1. Flyleaf - So I thought (Alt.V) Beautiful way to open the mix. I fell in love with this song after just one listen. Turns into quite an anthem 8/10 2. Joshua Radin - Amy's Song Another beautiful, meaningful song. I've been into this guy for a while. 8/10 3. The Robot Ate Me - Bad Feelings I like this. It's catchy. A nice slow song. 7/10 4. Tony Laf - I'm Good A song sung with passion. Absolutley love it. Some great finds so far NSLL. 7/10 5. Water Flame - Glorious Morning This was different, in a good way though. A pleasure to listen to. 7/10 6. Badly Drawn Boy - All possibilities Heard this ages ago on the Comet adverts. Love it. 9/10 7. Joe Satriani - Chords of life Awesome. This guy has so much talent it's unreal. 8/10 8. Hamfatter - The Girl I love Wasn't keen on them from Dragons Den, but what a tune. 8/10 9. Neon Neon - Belfast It was alright. Not one I'd listen to again mind. 5/10 10. Darren Styles - Skydivin Totally unexpected, I thought I would hate this. I was wrong. Very good song. 8/10 11. Maija Vilkkumaa - Ingalsin Laura I like this. Punchy vocals, cracking riffs. 8/10 12. Good Charlotte - Thank You Mom. Awesome, good finish to the mix. Nice to hear Good Charlotte again. Overall verdict - nothing got slated, so that's a result in itself I guess. 8/10 Thanks NSLL.

Heard it ages ago and it has never got old. And for number 4, watch the live performance from BGT. I think his daughter comes on and it moves you quite a bit when he tells his story. Libertine Posted 12 June 2009 Share Posted 12 June 2009 1. Flyleaf - So I thought (Alt.V) 6/10 A minute too long, but it was alright. Bit gay. 2. Joshua Radin - Amy's Song 8/10 As you know I adore Mr Radin. The guy's an angel to me. 3. The Robot Ate Me - Bad Feelings 6/10 Nice enough. Didn't really go anywhere though. Kind of Flaming Lips sound. 4. Tony Laf - I'm Good 5/10 Meh. Sounds like some bellend that I can't think of. 5. Water Flame - Glorious Morning 7/10 Good instrumental piece. Liked it. 6. Badly Drawn Boy - All possibilities 6/10 Ha, never knew that hook was BDB. Heard it loads of times but never the full song. Not bad. Kind of wishing it would end throughout the last minute though. 7. Joe Satriani - Chords of life 8/10 Very nice. Satch is a legend, simple. Metallica totally ripped the intro on The Day that Never Comes. 8. Hamfatter - The Girl I love 7/10 Ha, I've tried these I/R playlists out before. Not done this one though. Nice guitar, kind of Strokes like. Not a fan of the singer really. Liked the chorus. 9. Neon Neon - Belfast 6/10 Not a fan. Didn't hate it, just didn't grab me. Nice instrumental bit around the 2 minute mark. 10. Darren Styles - Skydivin 5/10 Erm, not my thing to say the least. Didn't annoy me too much, just bored me a bit. 11. Maija Vilkkumaa - Ingalsin Laura Cracking guitar, just didn't like the vocals at all. Torn whether to give a 7 or 8, so I'll leave it there. 12. Good Charlotte - Thank You Mom. 6/10 I'll say it now, I was not looking forward to this. It was alright though, way better than their singles. Mark Posted 12 June 2009 Share Posted 12 June 2009 1. Flyleaf - So I thought (Alt.V) 6/10 There was actually a time I liked this band and this song (album version, more of an alt rock sound). It's alright but sound qualitys abit rubbish. 2. Joshua Radin - Amy's Song 6/10 Didn't think I'd like it at first but it grew on me. 3. The Robot Ate Me - Bad Feelings 4/10 4. Tony Laf - I'm Good 2/10 5. Water Flame - Glorious Morning 2/10 Not my kind of instrumental 6. Badly Drawn Boy - All possibilities 3/10 7. Joe Satriani - Chords of life 3/10 Good guitar player, kinda like Bucketheads off Libs mix in that, that alone isn't enough, I just need a little more from a song. 8. Hamfatter - The Girl I love 3/10 9. Neon Neon - Belfast 4/10 Well not keen on the electro genre but it was listenable 10. Darren Styles - Skydivin 1/10 Haha, I think I can only put up with this type of music if it's in a club or something and I'm past caring 11. Maija Vilkkumaa - Ingalsin Laura 3/10 Nice guitar riff towards the end saves it from a 1/2! 12. Good Charlotte - Thank You Mom. 3/10 Didn't mind these when I was younger either, but I'm talking the first/second album, they're pretty bad now. (more so than they were ) Sorry that's quite harsh isn't it! Apart from the first two songs I wasn't really into any of the rest
