Ford Super Sunday Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 Boro's first game of the season, against Sheffield United, has been chosen for live coverage by Sky TV and will now take place on Friday August 7 at 8pm http://www.mfc.premiumtv.co.uk/page/News/N...1705453,00.html So Boro-Sheff U and Coventry-Ipswich are the live games on Sky so far What a bizzare decision to have a match kicking off 19 hours before everyone else. Call me a traditionalist, but if a game is going to kick off the season alone, can't it be on Saturday lunch, which is the Cov-Ipswich game. However, thank **** we aren't live on Friday night, that's all i'll say... spose it is inevitable we will be though
AjcW Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 It will be one week. Does anyone think the newcastle fixture will be moved for tv.... im praying for it to be friday, I know alot of you wont but I have a wedding in newcastle on the saturday... I just thought maybe due to it being newly relegated v newly promoted..
Craig Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 The schedule says there's only a Championship match that weekend on the Saturday evening. So i'm guessing not
NorthernFox Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 Does this mean we are definately playing our opening game on the Saturday? Reason I ask is that I have forked out £86 for 2 returns from Newcastle travelling down on the Friday but returning noon Sunday (but thought there was a live game on Sunday afternoon) Is there a list of games on yet? Ta for any assistance..... * checked Covs homepage - they are on Sunday. Phew!
Ashley Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 This is laughable all games should start at 3pm, it's the start of the new season for god sake.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 29 June 2009 Author Posted 29 June 2009 Northern.... There is a bit of confusion at the moment. Sky have got Cov-Ipswich at 12:45 on the 8th, and Boro-Sheff U on the Friday. There may also be a game shown on Sunday lunch, but that is likely to be WBA-Newcastle, if anything. I wouldn't worry, the TV companies wont mess about with this game, they will shift all our away games
Tevez Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 I wish people would shut up about why our game against Newcastle being moved to Sky.
Lovejoy Posted 29 June 2009 Posted 29 June 2009 Does this mean that Friday night football is back? I may be on my own here, but I used to enjoy that every week on the telebox.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 I don't see a problem with it. Friday night footy over here is quality great to go to great to watch. When there is 12 games each round surely one on a friday is no big deal.
SOCCERROO FOX Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 FNF is good, but not the first game. Big Build up Live on TV sell out crowd i think it would be good. But then again i'm not english and don't completly understand tradition.
Ultra Posted 30 June 2009 Posted 30 June 2009 The Newcastle game will NOT be on a Friday. Sky are showing the UEFA Super Cup final that night.
