Hi all, the other day i commented in the leroy lita or kevin phillips thread, saying that a friend of mine supplies the training equipment at city! he is well in with the coaches and that and is often having his lunch with all the staff and i said " that he was told they had bid for Reuben Reid".. I said i would try and get some more info for you when he rang me back later that day, well he got back to me yesterday saying " Rotherham were considering our intial bid but a couple of other clubs joined the hunt and basically they are trying to play each club of one another to start a bidding war! im not sure how much we have bid because they dnt really talk figures, but he did say they were hopefull of a deal being struck! but he did say on the Campbell front they wanna get rid off him asap but he is happy just to sit in the reserves and its proving hard to find a buyer but have had a couple of loan offers for him! hope that is some help to you fellas.

ill post more if i know anything new!

From what i heard o nhere... would you stick on near on 20k for a as long as you can and do little.. or would you work on getting int he first team and getting paid 8k a week and earn a first team place?

My opinion.. you'd stick with the 20k. Its a living after all and money talks masses

41 games for Rotherham, 18 goals. Not too shabby.

Plus he's pacey which is what we need. If he's cheap enough he'd be worth a punt really, he's young too.

Is this a joke?

Rotherham boss Mark Robins may have already found a replacement for outgoing striker Reuben Reid in the form of trialist Wayne Gray.

Reid, who bagged 18 goals for the Millers last season, looks set to tie up a move away from the Don Valley Stadium at any day, with West Brom his reported destination.

I watched Rotherham 4-2 Leeds this season (and missed Rotherham 2-0 Leicester  ) and he absolutely tore their defence to pieces, seems to have a real good dribbling technique and a lot of pace, young and scores goals. Exactly what we need. If West fooking Brom nick another one from under our noses :@

Rotherham said tey had accpted a bid from a Championship team, but wouldn't say who... could be Leicester, or West Brom or anyone!

If he wants to play, he should come Leicester.

He's really no Lita. Think he talked himself out the door at every other club he's played for and has only put in one decent season for Rotherham. Got A LOT of potential though. He can play cricket as well as he can play football too, I have absolutely no idea how that will ever come in useful though.

Yeah, I get bad vibes of Lita. At least these lower league players will feel fortunatte to play for Leicester and have something to prove, whereas Lita would resent it, probably feeling he was too good for us.

Why does everyone talk of Lita as something they want to scrape of the bottom of their shoes. Nobody on here knows the man, he's probably less of a twat than a lot of people on here are sounding. It's not his fault that every club has ignored him until now and suddenly he's got a whole load of choices. Lita would be a brilliant signing for this club no matter what we're paying him.

Yes, he would be a good player who would score goals but I don't like his money grabbing attitude. I heard he is after 15,000 a week! Thats crazy!

That's how the media have reported it. Things are rarely as they seem through the media. I wouldn't be surprised if it was in fact Lita's agent who was making clubs wait early in the summer. Clubs will presumably get more desperate for strikers towards the start of the season and end of the transfer window. It seems to have worked out well for the pair of them anyway. Anyone would think he was the second coming, the way some people talk about him on here. He's just A.N. Other Championship striker.

It's anything but crazy. Especially as clubs don't have to pay a fee for him.

You heard he was after, in reality neither you, or me, or anyone knows anything about what wages he wants. And who cares if it's £15,000 a week, Mandaric has hiked up ticket prices so he can afford it. This is market value for a player that is proven at this level and has shown potential to score goals at Premier league level before in his career. Given the hints from a few people in the know on this forum, the club is already paying a few players wages of £15,000+ and Lita is better than anyone we've currently got.

Look at the man's history. Reading don't want him - got to be some reason for that. He's been done for assault. He filmed some sex tape on his phone and it got round to other team mates. He just sounds dodgy. Decent player or not, he sounds like a dodgy guy.

Who gives a crap about that, his job is to score goals which he's done throughout his career. Compared to the crooked man that actually owns this club and controls everything, none of the above is at all worth fussing over.

Yeah, but it's like any work environment. Someone can be good at their job and be a complete twat. If affects other people, if Lita is a total ****, it could mess up the team spirit and ruin the mood of the club. I wouldn't be bothered about any assault charges, but he is going to be on big wages. It's not impossible he could be another Denis Wise.
