Karljohn Posted 2 August 2009 Posted 2 August 2009 Just received a text from a mate of mine who is a die hard Cov fan, goes all over the country for pre season friendlies etc and knows gunnarson and westwood (their keeper) well...he knew about most of their summer departures well in advance... He says that we have made an approach to sign Elliott Ward from them. Thoughts?

alanf0x Posted 2 August 2009 Posted 2 August 2009 Elliott is a decent player at championship level but i cant see this happening. Similar kind of player to Brown and would struggle to get in over tunch and hobbs. Also the guy is an idiot off th pitch. My mate knows his gf so will find out if true
Fox92 Posted 2 August 2009 Posted 2 August 2009 Fantastic defender at this level, one of my favourite defenders in the league and I would take him usually but at this moment when we have Brown/Tunchev/Hobbs/Morrison to choose from who are all as equal/maybe better defenders what is the point in spending the money and what is the incentive in buying him? Would not be surprised if he was being lined up as a replacement for Tunchev tbh. One of my mates who knows a number of the players at cov said that he was not in the squad today and a club may have come in for him. He also confirmed that Gilbert was in th squad Think Ward would be a decent replacement if Tunchev was to move on..
