Super Arj Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 Espanyol captain dies at training session thoughts are with his family...
Unabomber Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 Awful news, I felt terrible reading that Sky Sports link. R.I.P
Ultra Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 Only 26... Players do need testing for any hint of heart trouble..
Budweiser Posted 8 August 2009 Posted 8 August 2009 WOW. RIP. His family must be shocked, thoughts are with them. Tragic.
Darkzzz_ Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Watched him training back in Febraury when I was at the Espanyol ground and always thought he was a decent Periko. Another awful start to La Liga which mirrors that of Puerta's death a couple of seasons back.
Nath Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Feel for team mates that may have had to witness that, also my thoughts go to his family Rip.
The Doctor Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 Marc Vivien Foe, Antonio Puetra and Dani Jarque i wonder how long its going to take for a heart problem screening to become a compulsary part of a medical? more than likely once a real big name player (Kaka, C.Ronaldo, Messi etc.) has died for this reason. these tests only cost £30 or so and yet teams are putting that money ahead of a persons life RIP Dani

Theres all sorts of viruses that can affect the heart at any time - it may not have been a long term problem its just one of those sad things. He wasnt playing when he died he was relaxing.
Samilktray Posted 9 August 2009 Posted 9 August 2009 I think its pretty ignorant or silly assuming that teams dont conduct heart tests in player medicals to be honest.

Uncle Monty Posted 11 August 2009 Posted 11 August 2009 Shit, I havent seen this on the news. Peace out.
Fox92 Posted 11 August 2009 Posted 11 August 2009 Yes seen this yesterday or the day before on Sky Sports as well, terrible news for his family and the team RIP.
Aleksz Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 Cesc Fabregas' goal celebration - top notch. R.I.P
lcfc_jme Posted 15 August 2009 Posted 15 August 2009 Been away for a while so haven't heard any football news.. Shocking though, really. Such a shame. The statement on the Espanyol website makes for horrible reading. Touching sentiment from Cesc after his goal earlier, fair play.
