He said he would base his desicion on the performances in the sing off - Lucie was clearly better in it and he has made himself look hypocrite because of the amount of times he has slated them off.

The longer they're in the competition, the longer there is contraversy, and hence, more people watch/vote (at 50p a go???) and make Simon Cowell richer. It isn't about talent. It's about getting the Nation (or those sad enough to discuss is 24 hours a day) all worked up about two little gayboys dancing on a stage, voting for the "real" talent, and spending there hard earned reddies on votes week after week!

I was thinking that even before it went to Simon that he'd vote to take it to the public decision and deadlock because he knew damn fine that Jedward would end up beating Lucie on the public votes alone. In his eyes, keeping the twins in was the best possible thing to do as they are the ones keeping the competition in the newspapers, keeping everyone talking about the show, keeping the interest and viewing figures up week in week out and keeping people voting... and now the public will vote even more to get rid of them and hence line Cowell's pockets even more. Had they been voted off, there would be no controversial acts left and to be fair, this years show is fairly poor in comparison to previous years and there is no outstanding singer who's going to make it in the big time so people aren't going to tune in to listen to them like they did Leona or Alexandra unless there is something worth watching for... and sadly the twins are that something. However, he simply cannot justify sending Lucie home over the twins. On Saturday night he said she was the best girl singer left in the competition and the week before said that she was making herself relevant and had found her style. Now every week he has also been saying that the twins are awful, that they can't sing and shouldn't be there. He even went to the lengths to say he'd leave the country if they won and sulk for 6 months! In the sing off Lucie sang really well and gave a great performance... the twins on the other hand reverted to having their voices (or lack of) covered up by a backing track with a lot of backing singers on and dancing around like complete idiots in a desperate attempt to try and save themselves. Simon Cowell is a greedy, hypocritical fook that, when one of his acts finally gets voted off, will then realise what a massive mistake it was to keep the nobhead twins in the competition!

Of course he won't. He is incredibly clever. The whole point of the X Factor is to produce money for Simon, not to discovered the next big manufactured crap singer. Nothing Simon is doing will be a mistake, as people watch that show year on year and vote week after week, giving Simon more ££££££££'s. I guarentee that if you looked at last weeks viewing figures, and the ones for the next week, there will be the same if not more people viewing. It's the nature of the British public to watch shit like this on television.

But as for him lining his pockets, yes, I said that. But he doesn't want the twins to win as it'd be a complete joke and he'll have to sign them... and having now saved them, he knows damn fine that they could now win which for him, would be a disaster as NOBODY would buy their single therefore negating any positive effects that this extra publicity or voting might have now. And of course this show is about finding a new singer... he wants to sign someone that can actually sing and get him cash for selling their albums and singles, not some joke act that are WORSE than Same Difference, who incidentally, have completely fallen off the radar after a pathetic attempt at releasing an album a couple of years ago!

If they had talent they would have been spotted when they were younger, like in every career such as footballer, cricketer etc. They shouldn't be allowed to win a competition and then get straight into the industry, they should have to start from the bottom and write their own music. You know, The Beatles started from nothing and become the greatest band ever, not put straight into the industry. Plus, they don't write their own music so whats the point in being a 'star' if you don't write your own music. I await stick...

Not everyone has the luxury of having someone spot them and in the case of those two, they never got given the chance or found ways of getting themselves into that industry by themselves... in Leona's case, she was incredibly shy for one. I'm not sure about Alex but I would imagine it'd be the same sort of thing... never having performed on a large enough stage for someone to have found her. But to argue that either can't sing is just stupid at best.

Come on, if they were that good they would have been spotted when they were younger. I am not saying that people on their are bad singers, look at that Lucie, she was a good singer, but it's just not about singing is it. Ok, its a singing contest but what about actually playing an instrument and writing songs?
