GREEN ARMY Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 There's going to be a couple of awkward fixtures for Holloway this season. I know he's going to have a 'warm' reception on his return to Home Park, what's it going to be like up there?
GREEN ARMY Posted 20 August 2009 Author Posted 20 August 2009 Btw, i come in peace before you start laying into me
Bert Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 He'll get some shit, but it won't bother him, he's going to be expecting it too. As long we win, that's all that matters to me, you can't change the past.

Absolute indifference, it wasn't his fault that he was completely out of his depth. Him being here was Mandaric's fault.
LCFC-ARAB Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 i'll give him a mild boo.... although a boo for different reason from you you dont like him cause he left you we dont like him cause he came to us
Matt Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 I won't boo, I won't welcome him back...Just another game.
Ford Super Sunday Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 I dunno about everyone else, but I won't boo him He did his best for the club. I don't think anyone can accuse him of not putting in 100% effort. Unfortunately, he just wasn't up to the task, and got us relegated. Maybe if he'd focused more on the team than his witty quips and that he might have done better. But I don't have any personal bitterness. I mean had he not relegated us, we wouldn't have gotten Pearson, and be in as good a position as we are now. Personally, and I think others do too, I consider relegation to have been a fantastic wake up call for this club (in retrospect of course, had we still been there not so much) Like Levein and Kelly really. He just didn't cut it in the end, but gave it plenty of effort. So I wont be booing him, in conclusion.
Legend_in_blue Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 He'll hide away in his seat on the touchline and will be too afraid to come out! He should tend to his chickens and take the day off.
C-man Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 I won't give him any abuse he didn't mean to get us relegated he just made some calamatous decisions and inherited a terrible team. He will get booed big time though.
GREEN ARMY Posted 20 August 2009 Author Posted 20 August 2009 i'll give him a mild boo....although a boo for different reason from you you dont like him cause he left you we dont like him cause he came to us good reply! Amazes me on Pasoti that people have still got so much hatred towards him. I actually like the bloke regardless of what happened. Think it was more to do with our chairman Stapledwallet if the truth be told. You ought to read our boards, depressing to say the least!
AjcW Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 No one else flutter a little at the title . Id say im firmly on the fence. On the one hand he didnt get us relegated, Martin Allens signings did. On the other hand, he made an epic mistake after the 2-0 coventry victory by dramatically changing the team for the next game and thereafter. I wont boo though.
GREEN ARMY Posted 20 August 2009 Author Posted 20 August 2009 Main reason i started this thread was to see what you lot thought of him, even after a relegation. It's a refreshing read. May direct a few Argyle fans this way and make them realise what pr*cks some of them have been lately. I know he still reads Pasoti (and his missus), anyone know if he visits this site?
BedsFox Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 I won't boo him Not really his fault - he took over a club in disarray, unsurprisingly he was out of his depth Liked him as a personality, seemed to me to be a decent bloke. After all most managers are going to go from Plymouth to Leicester if given the chance, its perceived as a step up isn't it? Just like LCFC managers get poached, as Pearson will do one day LCFC has come a long way since he left. Settled on the field, great management team. Things have moved on
Zingari Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 i think we can all look back and laugh about it now
davieG Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 I guess we might be feeling less ambivalent if we were still languishing in League 1
Brainy Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 Amazes me on Pasoti that people have still got so much hatred towards him.I actually like the bloke regardless of what happened. Brainy Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 Feb 9th 2008 Take the time to check things out, won't go far wrong He wasn't even talking about you
Matt Posted 20 August 2009 Posted 20 August 2009 Depending on what happens this season I think he did us a favour, I think he started the end of our 'rut', Obviously we didn't want to go down, but even if we had managed to stay up, I'm 90% sure we'd have been in yet another relegation battle last season in the Championship, I saw relegation as a positive (Aslong as we got up in the 1 season like we did), I felt we needed to take a step back to even start taking steps forward, We were mirroring Coventry - Relegation battle, year after year but just surviving, As I said as long as we do OK - Not necesserily promotion or playoffs, but as long as we're not in a relegation battle, Relegation to League One did us a favour in my eyes. Again as people have said Holloway certainly didn't want relegation (And our first time out of the top two leagues in our history) on his CV, And although his decisions were questionable the players in that/those teams have to take their part in the blame. As I said earlier in the post, I won't boo him, I won't welcome him back, It's just another game, with another valuable 3 points at stake.
