Holloway return?

He played Bruno fucking N'Gotty in midfield and kept our only goalscorer on the wing until he panicked at the end of the season (at which point Hume promptly starting scoring again).

He's a thick twat and I'd be surprised if he's still managing in 5 years time.

I have nothing against him. He inherited a woeful team full of right backs from Martin Allen, but he still should have saved the club from relegation. But the bloke isn't all bad. He made 3 permanent signings for us whilst he was here, and two of them are now an instrumental part of our team, whilst the other [big Baz] is a cult hero here, for me at least - Compare that to the dross brought in by Mr. Allen.

He was out of his depth and the pressure of managing a club our size got to him, he couldn't handle that. I hold no grudge and I wish him the best at Blackpool, bar the two games they play us.

lol:(

You can laugh mate but i was bang on with what i said.

It was aimed at the two lcfc fans we had mouthing off so was just in my eyes (and i'd had a few that night) ;)

Apologies for getting the wrong end of the stick with a poster on this thread

i actually like the bloke , met him just before he came to leicester at the hotel astor in plymouth, (in fact my parting words to him at the time were "you should be at leicester ollie!" 3 weeks later he was! am i responsible for us being relegated!! :o:o ) he was polite and gave the time to have a conversation with me over various football stuff which is more than most will do! real shame it didnt work out for him here but i wish the bloke all the best at blackpool.

personally i think he seemed like a nice chap and i also think the relegation to league 1 was needed. i dont realy blame holloway totally for the relegation tbh, ok he played a part but the foundations for the relegation were laid long before he arrived and i dont mean just under Allen and his absolutley woeful signings, we had been in serious decline for a long time beforehand and had a losing mentality at the club. i wont Boo him, but like has already been said i wont welcome him back either, he was just employed to a job he wasnt capable of doing and the fault for that lies with Mr. M. as long as we beat pool, i'll be happy!

I will be booing, no matter what.

The Argyle fans i know in Newquay hated him at the time and for about 12 months after he joined us but now say they would have him back. Holloway was on a loser as soon as he arrived at City, he did well with Argyle who he turned into a good side with little or no money, then to inherit the shite we had at City and with the fans at City expecting him to turn it around straight away he had no chance. I think he is a decent bloke and a football fanatic but unfortunately his biggest downfall is that he was on the TV more than anybody else involved with City and made himself and Leicester City look stupid. <_<

Green Army, I bet you Love the Paul Whitehouse advert ? (not) ;0):cool:

He got the club relegated and we 'hate' him for that but lets not forget Martin Allen put us in that place by signing utter rubbish to be honest, apart from Clemence who was the best signing which really says something.

Holloway took over a bigger club than were he was and ever will be. Bristol Rovers, Queens Park Rangers, Plymouth Argyle these clubs are smaller than Leicester City (sorry Green Army :P) but its true and the club, in the end, was to big for him. Thats why I think he will be ok at Blackpool because their a smaller club.

Lets not get me wrong though, he signed some fantastic players (well, errr, 2) that have proved to be essential to us. Stevie Howard and captain fantastic Matt Oakley.

Won't get a reception from me I think, the thing I want is 6 points from him and Blackpool.

Aye, Howard and Oakley are both Holloway signings and they have been our two most important players in the last 12 or so months.

He is a weird eccentric old man who is also the worst manager this club has ever had.

I'll boo, call him a willy puller and chant 'Ollie whats the score' when we are beating them.

willy puller.

I wish someone would close this thread. The column inches and air time devoted to Holloway were bad enough when he was here never mind now that he's gone.

Hopelessly inept for us and one of the worst managers in our history, but he's moved on and recovered from what was a disastrous appointment and so have we. He'll get some stick obviously, but it'll be nothing like he'll get at Home Park or indeed what Brian Little encountered at Filbo in 94. Joe Mattock will get more abuse I reckon, but that's for another day.

I honestly couldn't care less. He made lots of mistakes, was truly incompetent, paid the price and deserves the abuse he will get. However, I still maintain the idea that relegation has been good for us, so now we're back I don't care what happens.

Never rated him even before he came to city.

Liked the sound of his own voice too much, over did it in the media ie was on soccer am far too much, had a colum in the Saturday Sport etc when he should of got his head down and put his full efforts towards keeping us up.

I didnt find him funny tactically poor and ok we were pretty bad before he came, didnt really rate his signings. Wont be booing him though, he was the wrong guy at the wrong club at the wrong time.

Well that's because we ended up in League 1

If you have a dodgy wachine machine you buy a new one.

Brilliant your a funny chap, good laugh. I for one don't want that, i want a manager.

Holloway was the ending of our ship that sunk, the guy had the time to keep us up,

i can guarentee the bloke will never be succesful within the championship.

I dunno about everyone else, but I won't boo him

He did his best for the club. I don't think anyone can accuse him of not putting in 100% effort.

Unfortunately, he just wasn't up to the task, and got us relegated.

Maybe if he'd focused more on the team than his witty quips and that he might have done better. But I don't have any personal bitterness. I mean had he not relegated us, we wouldn't have gotten Pearson, and be in as good a position as we are now.

Personally, and I think others do too, I consider relegation to have been a fantastic wake up call for this club (in retrospect of course, had we still been there not so much)

Like Levein and Kelly really. He just didn't cut it in the end, but gave it plenty of effort. So I wont be booing him, in conclusion.

I agree with your post. Relegation was the best thing to happen to this club. It enabled us to blood new players, get rid of dead wood and be reborn.
