Phlashman Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 St James' somewhere near the top I'm told. I'm taking an oxygen tank just to be on the safe side.
samjohnson Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 I read in the Matchday programme (barnsley game) that to even get to the away section its 14 flights of stairs o_O But as for me... Im watching it from the ground floor of my house - No stairs for me
Phlashman Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 14 Flights? I think I'll turn up the day before and make base camp between flights 9 and 10 then get up early to make a final push for the summit.
Ozwin Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 14 Flights? I think I'll turn up the day before and make base camp between flights 9 and 10 then get up early to make a final push for the summit. I'll bring the marshmellows.

For anyone on the coaches (and who has been before), do we have a rough idea as to the time of arrival in Newcastle? And will we have time to nip for a pint or two before KO? The person i normally go to City games with can't make this one, so i'm flying solo. Ahh well there's plenty of us making the trip up so i'm sure i'll get chatting to someone
Legend_in_blue Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 Leather chair. The lads. Beers. Sky Sports HD.

topharry123 Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 You need to record this and upload it for us all. I well wanna see what Americans say when they talk about Leicester and stuff. usually the commentating is straight from England. Though it is hilarious watching them try to analyse the games! One example which annoyed me and almost had me in tears laughin last week. Beckham got sent off and the english and the american guy were arguing about it. The english guy said "it was a bad challenege, very dangerous, red every time" the American guy "But it's David Beckham, people pay just to come and see him play. The referee should know this and just book him. He is angering the fans by sending Bekham off. It was a bad tackle but IT'S DAVID BECKHAM!" To be fair, they're not all like that, most of them seem pretty knowledgable but that guy just didn't have a clue!

They were using the wrong names for things like offsides etc , i couldnt believe what I was hearing.

Luckily all the games that come from the uk use the english commentators, and there's so many adverts thsat there isn't much of a half time show!

clare Posted 26 August 2009 Posted 26 August 2009 any tips for Headingly area for where it may be on? whenever I wanted to watch city on sky wen I've been in Leeds I havent been able to find anywhere showing it, because often its coinsided with champs league or premier fixtures that are on I managed to watch Yeovil vs Leicester last season in the Skyrack, even though they were showing Liverpool V Everton in the Cup! They've got loads of screens so I just asked the barman if he could switch one of them over to Sky Sports 2! I would have thought that any pub in Headingley will be showing it as I don't think there are any Premier League fixtures clashing.
