The Doctor Posted 5 September 2009 Posted 5 September 2009 Tesco are planning on building a "one stop shop" (mini supermarket) on the site of an old car wash on ayelstone lane just round the corner from shackerdale road. several people are petitioning to get the council to retract planning permission because they don't want shops selling alcohol near there houses. why they care i can't understand seeing as how there is a big tesco a 20 minute walk that sells alcohol, a londis just round the corner that sells alcohol and just down the road a bargin booze. oh not to mention the two pubs in the local area (both visable from my house ) then just down shackerdale there is another pub so why are people so bothered about alcohol being sold now in their area when it has been for ages?

We just had a Tesco Express in place of the old Kwik Save near us and its bloody brilliant! Open 6am til 11.00pm every day so if we run out of anything its there! Bet all the feckers that are moaning will use it when they need something and its there. Some people just like something to moan about

Because most people are like sheep and believe everything they read so assume that a shop selling alcohol will lead to drunk hoodies mugging old ladies.
AmericanScott Posted 5 September 2009 Posted 5 September 2009 I'm praying a Tesco express opens in my area. I'd seriously do anything for it to happen. The one in town (near Haymarket) is the best. I go to get a sandwich and i get a lesbian couple making out at the front entrance. This is a magnet for success! Spot on Louise What you highlighted in bold was purpleronnie... But tell more of this lesbian couple.
AmericanScott Posted 6 September 2009 Posted 6 September 2009 What you highlighted in bold was purpleronnie...But tell more of this lesbian couple. Even though when i posted that, i had a few Stellas. Look closely and you'll see Lou posted it Now for this lesbian couple. It was some pretty decent Asian girl and a fairly hot Polish girl. When i walked in, they were hugging and i thought "wow please just start kissing". I buy my sandwich and as i walk out, they were tounging away! I shit you not! I look at the security guard as he was more interested in this lesbian couple then potential shoplifters. It made my day. Quick edit: so that's why everywhere should have a Tesco express.

Well, 'Tesco, where sexy lesbians congregate' is much better than 'Tesco, every little helps' I'll give you that
lou Posted 6 September 2009 Posted 6 September 2009 What you highlighted in bold was purpleronnie...But tell more of this lesbian couple. It was me! For Gods sake I rarely get anyone agreeing with me... dont take it away from me
Guest Posted 6 September 2009 Posted 6 September 2009 I was going to argue, but now I've heard that it attracts lipstick lesbians I've changed my mind Might have to pop down my local more often!
Unit Posted 7 September 2009 Posted 7 September 2009 We got one near us on hinckley road, there's a load of other shops round here and nobody really cared, except the Spar who kicked up a big fuss and a petition about how it would destroy local businesses.... This is the same spar that has about 10 of it's shops in every european city. I think they were just bricking it. I don't use this tesco much the booze is a rip off

I bloody hate Tesco, but in terms of what it offers it pisses on all the other shops nearby. Moving on to the subject of petitions, has a petition ever actually done any good? It's just a list. It's no actual measure of how people really feel; just because someone put their name on something hardly proves they give a toss
Bryn Posted 7 September 2009 Posted 7 September 2009 I love Tesco, brilliant place, they aren't taking over the country for nowt, they do good stuff at decent prices.
Unit Posted 7 September 2009 Posted 7 September 2009 Much more of an asda man myself. The tesco express's booze prices don't even get near the prices of their big shops, asda is even better than that.
AmericanScott Posted 7 September 2009 Posted 7 September 2009 Who can say no to double club card points

Ummm, could it be that they are concerned by the current obsession with the abuse of alcohol, and the damage it causes? Seriously people...how close does the grog shop need to be? Ive got the answer, all those people who used to drive the milk vans, should drive a mobile Off Licence (thats what you call them?), just leave your empty Voddy botle on the step, next morning a new fresh one with a gold top.

Finnegan Posted 8 September 2009 Posted 8 September 2009 People are aware Tescos sell more than just alcohol, right?
lou Posted 8 September 2009 Posted 8 September 2009 People are aware Tescos sell more than just alcohol, right? Took the words right off my keyboard Few people actually buy alcohol from Tesco Express as its so bloody expensive. My Son and his mates get their Vodka from Iceland locally as its a fiver (theyre all over 18) The kids that are underage get it from the corner shop as they serve kids (tossers!) and Tesco are very strict on that, which is good!
dogadug Posted 8 September 2009 Posted 8 September 2009 What is the point in complaining. If someone wants alcohol, then they'll just go to 1 of the other 10+ places in the area that sell it. Some people..
Bryn Posted 8 September 2009 Posted 8 September 2009 That mobile alcohol thing is fucking genius, absolute genius, if I were in the market for a business idea this would be it. Reasonably priced alcohol delivered and the rubbish discarded of for you, magic. A delivery/recycling hybrid.
