Roundabouts

Not unless you are a woman, an old person or a taxi driver. FACT

PLUS WHY THE F*** DON'T PEOPLE INDICATE WHN THEY ARE TURNING OFF!!!!

Can't disagree with any of that, Especially old people - the main offenders. I really do think when you get to a certain age you should have to take your test again, maybe not the full test but some kind of test.

(I'd cover for shelter about the women comments though :giggle:)

I went through god knows how many roundabouts today, the amount of people I sat behind waiting for some to let them out at roundabouts when it was there right of way, I sat behind someone for a good 2 minutes when it was their right of way to go! As it was the old couple's right of way people were even waiting for them to go, they still didn't get the hint and didn't move so people drove on.

I do find many other drivers on the road frustrating though, I'm not perfect don't get me wrong and if I had to retake my test again i'd fail no doubt about it, picked up to many bad habits but there are so many bad drivers on the road.

We have a roundabout in Grantham outside Asda which if you hit it in either the morning, afternoon or saturday morning is just utter carnage people in the wrong lanes, blocking exits and so on it would be so simple and work so much better if people didn't rush, panic and cut corners and actually thought about things

Are they really that hard to understand?

Thank god, someone else thinking the same as me! lol

It appears that the small roundabouts seem to baffle people even more than the bigger ones...and don't even get me started on people indicating, not just on roundabouts but in general...drives me crazy when people don't do it. This should also go in the "What grinds my gears" thread. :D

Fook off nearly everyone I see misusing a roundabout is some young bigheaded whiz kid in a BMW or the like, no signals just a get out my way with an I'm too important attitude. The number of times I have to stop because they are too fooking lazy, ignorant, up their own arses to indicate that they're are turning off the roundabout, does my head in.

5 minutes on the road and young people think they know it all.

Well if you're going to stereotype a whole section of people I'll join in, it seems that's all you have to do on here to prove you're opinion is just and right.

That's a pain in the arse that one, especially when the queue goes onto the roundabout.

Do you notice on that road people end up cutting you up if you want to go left because people go in the right lane and pull out in front of you.

yeah it just chaos, cars coming from every direction going anywhere they want and the exit onto the A52 towards Barrowby is always blocked

No-one is perfect, Young people are perhaps just as bad, Just I find and notice the older generation (And i'm not talking 50/60's) i'm talking at a guess late 60's/70's+ are the main offenders off annoying people.

And old women - Don't get me started, bloody hell :giggle:JOKE! Don't get ya hangbags out.

Well I think you've just proved your bias, you say young people are as bad and yet you say you notice the older generation. Truth is you must notice the younger generation to admit that they are not blameless so you obviously choose to ignore what is in front of you just so you can jump on the let's have a go at old people's driving.

Which makes your opinions on this matter irrelevant. :dunno::rolleyes::P

Right, first things first. I know how to use a roundabout. Secondly, I am the only person on the roads still using their indicators. FACT.

That definitely winds me up good and proper. You have to stop only to see the bastard turn off. Not a fan of the effort putting it back into first to start it all over again.

there are too many poxy little stupid pointless roundabouts, like on way to oadby, there's something like 3 mini roundabouts in quick succession, i'd get fucking rsi if i indicated everytime i needed to. they just bung them in willy nilly these days, and hump; them up to add to the damage sleeping policemen do to your car.

I am a woman as of last time I looked and I can negotiate a roundabout perfectly ok thanking you.

Brits vote on the best and worst roundabouts

The infamous Magic Roundabout has been voted the worst roundabout by British motorists according to a new survey by Saga Motor Insurance. The cluster of five mini-roundabouts on the A4312 in Swindon, Wiltshire, leaves drivers in a spin, often causing them to drive in the wrong direction.

Runner-up in the poll of 3,000 British motorists was The Plough roundabout in Hemel Hempstead. The notorious roundabout on St Albans‚ dual carriageway has grown over the years to cater with the accelerated traffic flow, however motorists don't seem to have grown any fonder of it.

Following closely behind at number three was the "Pork Pie" Roundabout in Leicester, one of the worst accident black spots in the city and named after the odd looking library in the middle of it. In fourth position was Ankerdrive, an enormous island with five roundabouts on it, between the A453 and B5000 in Tamworth, Staffs. Finally, in fifth position was the roundabout East of Tamar Bridge where a number of toll booths merge together.

It's from SAGA though , so it's probably the opinions of a load of old duffers that don't understand roundabouts :D

To be fair the Pork Pie roundabout is a lot better now it's got traffic lights, when I was a Bruno back in the day before they installed them it was an utter 'mare.

Personally I can' t see how roundabouts with traffic lights on can still be classed as roundabouts , all the fun and uncertainty has been taken out of them . :)

Anyway I've just popped down to the offy for a couple of cans and some tw*t at the mini roundabout shot across me from the left . i flashed at them furiously and i could see it was a young lady driver .

So there you have it , it's young women who can't understand roundabouts , how much more proof do you need ?

I was only joking about the whole women roundabout theory by the way.

Another thing that really gets my goat..is people in town suddenly deciding they need the lane you are in and therefore they should indicate and cut right in front of you, JUST WAIT you spacker until I can see that nobody is up my arse and perhaps I will slow down. Even thouh 9 times out of 10 I won't, i'll just speed up and give you the finger as I go by.
