Nigel Pearson Appreciation Thread

I think it's time to devote a thread to Nigel.

He has come in after a series of joke managers and without a lot of cash and without wasting money has made us into a respectable club once again. Fantastic player scouting and wise buys. Solid coaching and good tactics.

I want to say thank you very much Nigel.

Definitely the best manager wev'e had since MON and as much as I may be ridiculed I'd like to say you've started even better than him. A year unbeaten at home, promotion at the first shot as champions, 6th in the league now.

I've supported since the Bloomfield days and I think NP could turn out to be the best manager we've had in that time.

Definitely deserves the credit even if the the season has only just started. He is quickly building a strong reputation with Leicester and in my opinion is the best manager since MON. The most pleasing aspect of his reign so far is the stability he has brought to the club. Also good to have a manager last more than a few months. :D

Just hope he gets the time because as we have seen in hindsight chopping and changing managers at the first sight of failure is just not the answer. I hope the moaning fans don't get on his back when we go through a bad spell which is inevitable to happen at some point.

Wouldn't surprise me that if he carries on the good work he will start being linked with other vacant manager positions.

I would go as far as to say that if Pearson could get us promoted this season then he would have exceeded anything O'Neil acheived.

If he can finish anywhere near the play-offs this season then he'll have done a similar job to O'Neill in terms of taking the club up a level and then establishing it there.

He may not be absolutely flawless but it's a results business and his have been quite extraordinary in comparison to what could have been realistically expected from the average inexperienced manager coming into a club which was in a terrible state.

Hmm.

The last three weeks have shown Pearson's quality as a manager. Four straight defeats, our decent lead cut down to one point, Blackpool rapidly chasing us, and we turn it around with four victories, two convincing home wins and two hard-fought aways.

The pressure was mounting but Pearson never panicked, still had belief in his squad and has kept us in the top six

Surely that depends on which statistics you choose?

My bad. Of course, in terms of silverware and promotions, he's still behind O'Neill.

I specifically meant games played as manager (102) divided by wins(51).
